discussion Do you like voice acting in games

Lewd sounds and the occasional word or two during such scenes I like if it's done well (technically voice acting, I suppose, though I doubt a voice actor would put it on their CV). I haven't seen a game with much in the way of proper voice acting for the dialogue itself. If it were done well--a very high bar--then I suppose it would be a good addition. I doubt most, if any, of these games would be able to achieve that.

Voice acting is a huge plus. Its what made games like "Snow Daze: The Music of Winter" so good. Only time when voice acting would be bad would be the weird grunts and moans? but that's more on Japanese games, not really "Voice Acting" I guess

Sfw. Yes, but I usually change jap if available even though I don't speak it. They just sound better imo. English va are rarely good.

NSFW. Yes if properly done....like Lust Theory.
No if it's not a va and just sound clips or poor ai.

When the dialogue is good, sure, but I want an option to skip over it if it is not, which is usually the case in adult games. Recording good voice overs requires access to talent and equipment most indie devs do not have.

No. Often the spoken voice only matches half of the written dialogue.
I always turn it off (or to zero) when its an option.

Mainstream: Hell yeah! I loved Neil in Baldur's Gate 3 with Astarion. If a game has good voice acting and a decent gameplay, that's a good game. The can be just rescuing a cheese from a dark lord.
NSFW: Not so much. All the good voice acting in NSWF comes from the femdom and BDSM games. And that's not my cup of tea....

Absolutely! Good voice acting can totally elevate a game’s story and characters, making them feel way more alive and relatable. It adds emotion and personality that text alone sometimes can’t capture. That said, bad or forced voice acting can really pull me out of the experience, so it’s a bit of a double-edged sword. Its nice to have but most of the game I play that have voice acting are in Japanese so I have no idea what the hell tehy are actually saving until unless there are subtitles or I'm reading the textbox
the voices are way better than just listening to silence even if the voices are just stock moaning sounds

If the voice actors are good then of course, if they are bad as hell i prefer play the game in complete silence

Yes, it's a plus, but the game shouldn't be too heavy. The sounds obscene and sufficient in my opinion.
