If the difficulty is solving some kind of plot puzzle that allows you to move forward in the story or helps you build relationships with the surrounding characters properly - I like such difficulties (I'm not talking about mini-games, which I can't stand).
If it's about grind for grind's sake, about grind elevated to the hundredth degree, as it is realized in The Foot of the Mountain or Tangled Up, then God forbid such "difficulties".

I don't like grind but I do like "choices matter". Too many games have everyone in love witht he player or the player's dick.

I don't mind doing quest but don't repeat the grind by waking up, showering, making breakfast, working, eating lunch, etc.

For me it would really, really depend on what you mean by 'hard'. I like games to challenge me, so if it is an adventure game with porn in it, then I want the adventure to be hard.
If you mean 'hard' as in there are difficult puzzles to solve, and you have to grind for stats to meet thresholds, etc. then no, I think that takes a lot of the enjoyment of the porn away and I will either stop playing, or just do the things that are easier while still fun.

Honestly no, I like good stories and if you have to fulfill certain aspects to follow the story, that's acceptable. However, being stuck without being able to move forward because of parameters that are difficult to comply with, is too much. This is some of the problems with certain sandboxes
