Do you like AI art

I think it’s art if you’re trying to incorporate different tools in the making. Different LORAs, checkpoints, prompts engineering, upscaling, in painting, those are just a few tools you use to produce the desire images. Pretty dang hard and complicated if you ask me. So imo if a person have to think and tinker the AI engine to make the art they desire, not just any random, then it’s art. Of course I might be bias…
For me, the process usually starts with one or more images from a base model (I generally dislike 'fine tuned' models), then some combination of manual editing, inpainting, outpainting, blur suppression, denoising, and upscaling. And I, almost always, use more than one model alomg the way. I've actually gotten into it with people that want my prompt(s) so that they can produce their own variants of my work... I'm always trying to explain to them that there is no single prompt to generate my images.

I actually really do... just not now.

WTF right?

I've said it before: I think we're in the "dial-up internet" phase of AI. Hands instead of feet. 8 fingers. Weird noses. Etc...
Pretty soon, 10-15 years tops, it'll be almost unrecognizable from the real thing / perfect hand-drawn pictures.

Of course, I could be wrong. My only problem is that no matter what... people will single out AI:
1-AI never comes close to human made products: SEE! I TOLD you that nothing can replace human creativity!!
2-AI equals or beats human made products: OMG! AI is going to do everything a person could!! We're going to lose all our jobs in industry [X]!!!

Lose-Lose.

Yes. All sorts, not just adult stuff. Some of it generates bad images and some of the big models have been made to output mostly styles I don't like, but there is plenty of art I do like.

Yes i like it. There is some beautiful ai images but i wouldnt call them art.

AI can do really impressive things but should no be taken lightly.

The ratio with which it's improving is scary ngl, but it still has that artificial feel to it, it's like you can still tell somehow

It depends, it can definitely be more immersive & consistent than a random collection of art found on the internet. It all depends how skilled/lazy the person generating/transforming them is.
CAn't beat purpose made game art by a skilled artist though.

AI can be great in the hands of already talented people. I think a lot of people with no skill are using it as a crutch, and so it still has a lot of that fake feel to it.

Actually ive seen some really good Ai art games, of course they arent perfect but one day we really might not be able to tell the difference.

nope, it looks too fake even in its current state, especially ai porn.

I think I like some of it, but like everything else it will get better, and I will like it more and more,
I can't wait,(y)

AI is really just getting started. the more its used the better it will get.

I'm always amused by the people who insist that they can tell when it's "AI" art, and that it's always bad to some degree. They're only recognizing it as "AI" art when it's bad. It's called confirmation bias. They've almost certainly seen really good examples and just didn't realize it. Truth is, if it's done well, you can't tell, but most of what's being generated is done by people that use generative art as a shortcut rather than investing the time and effort into learning to use it well.

It has grown on me as I've gotten used to seeing the "style".

Also, it's obviously improving fast and people are getting better at using the tool.

yes. this. absolutly this. we are not 10-15 year from it as someone said above. we are already there.
feets and fingers can be done perfectly. but in order to get the perfect picture it requires some knowledge.
it very easy to make ok AI art but its far from imposible to make perfect AI art. but it requires more than just a prompt for now

Imo AI loses the point of being a artist compelty .-.
people said that when Photoshop came out too.
"how can we ever trust photos ever again"
they got over it eventualy. they will with AI also
