By day- Manga, webtoons, manhwas

By night- doujinshi (but the NSFW kind :sneaky: )

Yes as games that are just porn without plot are uninspired waste of Hard-drive space.

If they're funny or well written, sure. Otherwise every other line or less.

Damn. Some of y'all make me proud to be a Dev. Lol.

I mean if you don't read the story you might as well just be looking at random pron pics instead. For me an interesting story is 80% of the reason I read VN's.

from time to time I read them, but no on first game run. If i like it, if is good incest game then yes

The game must have that something, the right tags, an interesting storyline, optionally good graphics and then it doesn't matter if it's Slowburn or not, but as long as the characters don't act like they're all just waiting to be screwed.

Not really, with a few exceptions, I read just enough to understand what's happening in the scene, but most of the time you can understand what's going on just by the renders and choices in the game, if I want story I can just watch a movie, read a manga/webtoon, etc.

Most games have kinda of the same plot, so it's hard to get invested after some time

Yes, of course I read the story. I am a really fast reader though...

But, without the story, it's just a bunch of .gifs, right? Gotta have a reason to enjoy them

I try to read the story most of the time, but I tend to lose interest quickly if it's poorly written

I feel like most creators/devs know that most people don't care about the story and tend to just phone it in.

Myst is one of my favorites and ticked a lot of boxes for dialogue and exposition. There was another one that I really enjoyed that was something about a female zombie in a cabin with a female protagonist, but I can never remember the name of it.

The story is more important than the art imo, badly written dialogues or out of the place characters just break the immersion.

It depends on the game. But with so long time between releases I feel losing in the story more often that I should be. Games that I got immersed and I loved like MIST, Being a DIK or Where the Heart Is I ended losing interest on them and not been able to reconnect with the game anymore. Or if they just have too much filling dialog I jump to the action.

Depends of the game. If you are famialirized wiht the term nukige, most of the games are like that, but in my case i can't get in the mood if there is no story behind.
Like the build up makes it for me.

Most of the time i'll read the story, but if the game goes on for a while without anything interesting happening or it's just a bunch of filler text I'll try to skip to the next section.

I mainly skim through it, Im not expecting the greatest story to be told through a 18+ game.

I do if the story is fun for me, if not will probably skip it or stop playing the game.

Pretty much always, builds a connection to the characters and makes things more intimate. A bad story is basically a reason not to play. If all I want are pictures or clips to look at, there are better places online for those.

I always try out the story first, but if it's something like a MrDots game I just skip to the scenes lmao (I still try to give it a chance when he starts a new projects, but he never fails to meet my expectations).

I always read the story. If the story bores me or there are too many grammatical errors or is very broken English I can't finish the game.
