Sometimes there are games like Found in Translation that are mostly in English, but sometimes some of the characters will speak in a different language, and the game will not tell the player what they are saying. I was wondering what the people here do in those moments. Do you guys just skip it and not care about what the dialogue says, or do you guys have a way to quickly translate what it says?

My old method in moments like these was to use the google translate app on my phone that would translate any text that I recorded with my camera, but that method was really annoying to use, and I wasn't really comfortable with the idea of a camera seeing me jerking off.

My new method is to use a windows app called Power Toys that will let me scan text on the screen and automatically copy it to my clipboard, and then I paste it into an ai translator called DeepL.

Please share what you guys do to translate dialogue :)

This happens to me all the time because my first language isn't English (and I don't like it very much), but I can read it fluently only because I play a lot of games in English.

For cases like you mentioned, be it Russian, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, etc., the solution is what you mentioned: apps that translate with your phone's camera. Technology is a blessing.

sometimes I use the deepL app on my phone

personally I use vntranslator

There's a couple online sites that will transcribe and/or translate text in screenshots. E.G.

If it was meant for me to know, then it should have an in game translation (like in brackets or something) or a later exposition explaining what it meant (like the same or another character telling what was said in English)
If not, then it don't matter to me

Depends if i deem it a bug or not.

If it's not a bug, i trust the dev it's part of the story to not know.

If it's a bug, i'll translate if i'm invested enough in the game.

I use snip image tool and send it to ChatGPT for most accurate results. but as someone mentioned before when i see a foreign language text i think that developer wants me to not understand whats happening lol

I don't translate it. I figure the character I'm playing doesn't speak that language so he'll just have to live with not knowing what was said unless another character is here to translate.

Depends on how immersed in the game I am. If I am focusing on the playthrough, I would just quit the game unless it's got a great story and graphics because it's not worth the hassle of going through a translation app (especially with my boycott of all things Google, except YouTube which I access through an unofficial app), if I'm just playing for the fap, I would just skip and not care at all what it says.
