Do you enjoy games that have/require a walkthrough?

I use Walkthrough mod always I can, I don`t wanna lose scenes for low points.

My answer is kinda mixed. I like to have a walkthrough incase I get stuck but dont like it if I need it all the time.

In normal games i.e. the fallout series and alike I like to go blind but me being a completionist I like having it for AVNs but it does bother me in sandbox games where I have to get the walk through every 5 seconds to make sure I'm not wasting my time searching around for the next thing

It depends on the nature of the game. If there are no permanent consequences, I love to explore myself. But if taking a left instead of a right blocks you out of content, I'll use a walkthrough.

It is a failure of game design to require a walkthrough but most AVNs are made by amateurs so er can't expect too much. That said I pretty much always prefer to have one to refer to, even for well designed games but I'm probably too much of a control freak :)

I wouldn't say failure. There are plenty of games that offer branching paths that require either guesswork, exploration or multiple playthroughs. Without choices, all you have is a kinetic novel which is not a game, is a movie.

agree completely, I tend not to play sandbox games that require a walk though as it defeats the purpose of a sandbox which is to explore the setting in your own way

Games that require a walkthrough to complete everything are usually complex, with every choice mattering, and I find that fun. I’ll play them as long as there’s a walkthrough mod

Depends on the game. If it is really interesting, no, if its a VN that had a hard GAME OVER for a wrong choice, hells yes i want a walkthough

If a game requires a walkthrough i think it failed to explain the consequinces (if there are any) of what you're about to do

I don't like having to use walkthroughs in some VNs, I feel like if they provide a timeline sort of thing with the different choices, I love that. Sadly, not super common. So for a quick playthrough, I'll use one. I still tend to save before big choices though and explore the other routes against the walkthrough recommendations just because, hehe.

always try the game first and see but not against using a walkthrough to find those pesky hidden scenes, most of the time its the difficulty of finding one for the game your playing

I like walkthroughs, but only for games where choices have crazy unforeseeable consequences

In both worlds of gaming I like to go blind the first time, I like to enjoy the experience. Afterwards I'll check out online walkthroughs or if the games have walkthrough mods I'll download them and check out what I missed.

The more complex the more I would like one, but mainly for a second play through. Sometimes designers make their choices so arbitrary and don't through in hints that it gets frustrating. So, I guess if the designer is talented then a walk through wouldn't be necessary.

I'm the kind of guy who tries to complete as much of the content as possible on the first play through. Maybe not 100% completion, but if there are branching paths/alternative endings, I will want to know what I need to do beforehand so that I can get an ending I'd be satisfied with. I'll enjoy the journey along the way, but I also need a goal.

Yeah, it makes it easier to get my preferred route. Though for my first time playing, I preferred going in blind to enjoy the game experience.

I don't mind ones that have a basic walkthrough, being able to make choices, but go back and find the 'right' choice is nice, but ones that you need a masters degree to read the branching stories are not for me, I normally give up on those.

Depends on the game. I do prefer having walkthrough for games that punish me severely for wrong choices or non-optimal gameplay.
