First impression, whether I felt it was actually possible to make a game (in a reasonable timeframe). It easy to progress in Ren'py and RPGm. If it feels like you are just googling error codes whole day to progress instead of doing assets and logic for your game it does not work for me. There are a lot of unknown engines I was interested too, but paywall or questionable tos often meant I never gave them a chance.
