It’s better not to count on that. The problem has been discussed for a long time, but nothing has changed. At the same time, the time and effort required to write decent reviews (not just one or three sentences) are considerable. It takes both time and effort. I prefer a competing website — there, reviews are taken into account, and, importantly, there’s feedback from the audience. Here, all these reviews are like a voice crying in the wilderness; it seems that neither the users nor the administration is interested in having reviews as such.

I actually downloaded and reviewed a few games just for the sake of review. I can't understand how I had the time as I have been so busy since.

Sadly, if reviews gave a reward, people would spam them just to get coins. Without caring about the content and if it's actually true what they write. If the majority of them are just brainless cookie cutter phrases and random star ratings, reviews and ratings would be pointless.
Even with normal posts you see from time to time some users posting the same meaningless spam in all kinds of game threads like "good game" or "I haven't played it but it looks good", mods usually clean them up.

I disagree. If you let people access the content they want, they'll naturally engage more earnestly with others in the threads dedicated to that content. On the contrary, this system encourages people to comment shallowly on a bunch of threads they don't care about just to get the grind out of the way, and a lot of people will probably give up and end up moving to another corner of the Internet before getting through it anyway if member+ content is all they came here for.
