Best movie sequels of all time!

Superman II is half a good sequel, wish Donner had been able to complete it. At best the Lester version at least is a complete movie. Karate Kid II an honorable mention. Some will clamor for Back to the Future 2, or Jurassic Park 2, Matrix 2, or Mummy 2 but i think they are inferior from the first movie. But i guess like Die Hard 2, Batman Returns, or Ghostbusters 2 you could argue for them. I always liked Rambo II but i don't pretend its as good as first blood.

Oh easy, Star Wars the Empire Strikes Back, Godfather 2. Spider-man 2. Rocky 2. I know others will disagree but Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Also it is vastly overrated but i can't forget Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan.
Honestly my answer will be similar to most here so yea this and like some pointed out Dune II was nice too and who can forget Shrek 2

In my opinion, everything mentioned so far except for Empire Strikes Back is much worse than the originals
My opinion is similar on a lot of movies. I like Alien over Aliens, Terminator over Terminator 2. I only need the first Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, and to me Raiders is the best Indiana Jones period. There is only 1 Predator movie the original. Where i disagree Godfather 2 is a masterpiece and way better than the first. And on Star Wars the original 77 film is the best. Technically Empire is superior and its more operatic but no way near as effervescent or fun. But my opinion is very unpopular. Most series fall apart on the third entry i don't think many 3rd films are better than the second except maybe Back to the Future but that is debatable.

I am a lover of classics at that time, they shot a better deeper plot, a well-chosen cast, and the duration of the film. The Green Mile, Escape from Shawshank, Star Wars classic version, Sibiriada.

I'm partial to Joe Johnston's Captain America film, but i've been a fan of his since he was working for Lucas as a concept artist on Star Wars. I absolutely adore the Rocketeer film and score. And i liked the first Honey i Shrunk the Kids. So its not at all non biased.

I do think Spider-Man 2 is incredible in terms of the time the special effects, and the score is the best in the series. I will say the second Matrix film is better than its given credit for, the 3rd one is terrible, i wish the 4th one was never made.

I'm not going to pick Attack of the Clones, for me until Rise of Skywalker it was the worst Star Wars ever made. The last third of Revenge of the Sith only slightly makes it better than Phantom Menace for me. Ian was brilliant as Palpatine. His performance in the prequels is delightfully evil, and he does a far better job than in Return of the Jedi which was rather weak and limited.

thats cool, no problem having differing opinions. its great to see so many different takes on film.
id agree on the 3rd film thing, though the only exception i could think of is the LOTR trilogy.

I forgot all about that i saw that in the cinema incredible. Everything about that i love except for not including Scouring of the Shire from the book. I'm not that big of an Annie Lennox fan but Into the West was a great credit closer.

I thought Mission Impossible dead Reckoning was Incredible, and i love Top Gun Maverick. MI bombing in the theater puzzled me it was better than John Wick 4 and No time to Die.

I'm going to go against the grain and suggest Tron Legacy as a great sequel. I also think Prometheus is the best of the new Alien films.

while not necessarily sequels, these are some amazing film examples. Never heard of Sibiriada, However i have seen Stalker by Andrei Tarkovsky, a film released at the same year, which im sure your familiar with.

As for Avengers Infinity War over Endgame. Age of Ultron is one of the worst movie sequels i have ever experienced.

The worst of all time is the one i waited 35 years for The Last Jedi.

im of the same mind, AoTC was the weakest of the three prequels.
