Problem is, that it can be kinda useful for technical stuff, got a lot of emulators working in that place and links for stuff I wouldn't find in most places that easy, the people there ARE unfunny and braindead most the time but it was good using for bookmarking

I completely agree. Reddit is useful. I also used to value facebook for not losing touch with old contacts, Discord for... well, everything. But just couldn't continue to passively normalize and support their bad behavior, no matter how convenient or enjoyable I found those services.

Reddit really is useful for everything, man. Piracy discussions, game walkthroughs, media appreciation, all of it. Most of the time I just Google my question or thought and add “Reddit” at the end, and there’s usually someone who’s already asked it or shared their take.

My exact method for getting good info on anything. Cuts through the AI slop, there's no other really reliable human-brainstorming forum. I suppose youtube, but text is quicker to search than video.

Yo, you run emulators too? What system are you emulating? I mostly stick to GBA and GBC, and sometimes NDS. I bet you use yours to emulate Persona games haha. Do you play Pokémon?

I used to go the no-Gmail route and rely on ProtonMail for everything. I’d even wipe my accounts every time I factory reset my phone because I was paranoid about virus infections.

But I kept creating new social media accounts, and most platforms don’t accept anything less than ProtonMail. On top of that, Proton started locking me out if I made too many accounts from the same IP, and sometimes even flagged new ones if I used them too quickly to create socmed accounts like before they’d even had time to properly receive emails.

That’s why I eventually went back to Gmail. It’s just way easier to create accounts on your phone, even though it still has limits, something like under 100 accounts before it starts asking for a phone number.

I use atomicmail.io (if the places doesn't block it) for some shenanigans and Gmail for most things since it's just what i've been using since I was like 14,

Any place can have what Reddit has but since it's soo popular it tends to be the first place I look, and alas someone there already had the same problem before just like you said.

Speaking of human-made stuff, do you also prefer handcrafted levels in games over procedurally generated ones? Do you like roguelikes?

I feel like AI has its place too. I usually use it for things like game suggestions; translating sentences into other languages, since Google Translate is only okay for single words and often loses context in full sentences; and sometimes just as a chatbot.

I tried rogue-likes like Dead Cells and The Binding of Isaac but I just can't have fun in the end, and that's coming from a Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden fan, I get the appeal but these two just didn't work, I did Like Mothergunship maybe because it's was very fast and simple tho

It would also help to have a notification system that alerts you when your "Collect Interest" cooldown is up. Right now, you have to remember it yourself and keep checking the vault.

I would also appreciate something like this, as I was planning to collect mine yesterday, but the full 24 hours hadn't fully elapsed yet, and then I completely forgot about it. By the time I remembered, it didn't make sense to retrieve it, as it wasn't at a normal time that I'm usually on here.

I ordered $110 board game with $40 in shipping and fees because I am fiscally irresponsible.

Know how you feel. I just spent a whole bunch of money this weekend on non-essential items as well.

So my completely unsolicited take on the AI debate, It makes art much more accessible for the vast majority of folks. Now most people can type a description and get a passable image, functional code, or a piece of literature. Accessibility means we will get more of these thing's, both good and bad. I imagine in the early days of posting hand drawn art, there was, and still is, a great number of individuals that never experience critique until what they presented as what they thought was a Monalisa that was actually just a stick figure. I imagine/hope that our current AI ecosystem is the early days of lots of folks learning that their AI artwork is in fact stick figures and will gradually drop in volume, leaving us with two district sub groups.

The first sub group, is the ones that will never learn what art is and that they will submit a description and post 10 carbon copies of the first thing the processor shoots out, ignore all valid criticism and just keep chugging along. I pray this group is small, so help me I pray.

The second sub group, is a group that would not normally have skills in the medium that AI now makes accessible to them, but are able to prompt craft and willing to put the time into refining the results and learning the art involved with what they are creating (I mean in the image world we have been doing this with photo shop forever and we consider it art still). This group is definitely one I feel it is worth fostering, as this will provide great works that would not otherwise have existed, that while not skilled in the same way we think the medium should be skilled, it was still something someone spent a great amount of effort and time creating using a different set of skills and mastery.

I completely agree .. Eventhough I haven't played DoA but I know the characters from DoA And Marie Rose.. she was a love at first sight..
