Deep dish pizza, specifically Chicago is famous for them. It is basically a pizza with a lot of dough cooked in, well a deep dish.

Hey Slum what kind of deserts do you eat in Denmark? That you personally like.
Big fan of Æblekage, saw it translated as Danish apple cake.

And Æbleskiver, Deepl, gives me Apple Slices, but there are no apples in it. :p

Hi there I'm anon670-1, but you can just call me anon, I'm the local Sleaze Fanatic, now come with me and I'll show you around the Newest Lurker Hangout Thread, you know what they say third time's the charm 🤞!

Here is where the most social anti-social people you'll ever meet like to hang out, exchange gifs and play the occasional game of Yahtzee. Conversations can be a bit all over the place and it's a pretty tight knit community but don't feel intimidated to just jump in anywhere and start yapping with everyone, just make sure to follow the rules listed by Guz above. An easy way to encourage engagement on your posts is to start by replying to people and adding gifs to your response.

Adding a gif to your post is very simple all you have to do it go to a site like search for the gif you like and copy paste the gif into your response. Or if you already have the gif you want saved on your computer then you
Use This.png

Use the indicated icon to insert a .gif or picture from your device, or drag and drop.

This site is one of the easiest ways to edit gifs, you can even put users heads once you establish a rapport with people here

and quick guide you can find here
Anti-Social & Lurker - Hideout spot

If you do want to try your hand at using heads stop by @algeo's well curated Head Thread for all your head related needs!

What are you doing back here then? Get on up to the front of the thread and just hop in the conversation I promise most of us don't bite. You might be shocked when you meet our local chef, he's one of our more aggressive lurkers and likes to introduce himself to all the newcomers. But once you make it past this light bit of hazing you will find that the members who hang out here are very easy going and more than willing to help answer any questions you have.

There are buttons on the bottom right side of every post.

The "+Quote" button will add that post to your multi-quote collection to be replied to later. Then when you're ready to reply, there's an "Insert Quotes" button you can click.

The "<- Reply" button will put the quote right into your current message. Be careful, because it will put the quoted message wherever you've left your cursor. If you click reply to multiple other posts before publishing your reply, you can reply to multiples.

I assume that at this point anyone coming to the first page is here to tackle the challenge of backreading the whole thread. Before you get started on that I highly recommend that you go and check out The Backreaders Team Guide if you haven't already for the best tips for you to be most efficient. Keep in mind that when you're tackling a big backread like this it is a marathon not a sprint.

As you embark upon your backreading journey there will be times you may doubt your commitment to the cause during these moments draw strength from your unwavering faith in the one true slum @Slumdum , who, through the divine power of Sleaze, communes with the gods each day. This sacred bond ensures that the Slumrog is kept at bay, guiding and protecting us in our daily lives and will bestow upon you the the strength to power through and complete your holy backreading mission. Always remember when giving out reactions when in doubt sleaze it out.

Cranberry iced tea is my favorite tea, but I've never seen the actual fruit.

Oh. That looks hella good. Fluffy dough and creamy filling. 🤤
Are you also from the USA?

Me on a normal day.

Its red cabbage yum
P ickled Red Cabbage, is what I get, when trying to translate it. :p
Oh. Here we usually only eat it raw. The color gets way deeper and redder when pickled. Hahaha

That's why we're besties. 😊

Yummy. The second one reminds me of our bolinho de chuva (rain's little cake, don't know why the name)

It's a fried fluffy dough with sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on it.

Yeah... I'm not the biggest fan of potatoes... :p
Blasphemy!!!

I am from the USA. We have churros which are the same ingredients and fried like bolinho de chuva, although different style:

And before someone says that's a Mexican dish - let's be real, TexMex (food coming from Mexicans in Texas) is American food.

From wikipedia, so take it with a grain of salt.
Æbleskiver are spherical Danish snacks made from fried batter. The name literally means "apple slices" in Danish, although apples are not usually an ingredient in present-day versions. The crust is similar in texture to European pancakes, but with a light and fluffy interior similar to a Yorkshire pudding. The English language spelling is usually aebleskiver, ebleskiver or ebelskiver.

Soo maybe they are kinda the same?
We eat them with, jam or powdered sugar. (Or both at the same time! 😋)
Blasphemy!!!
Sorry... I've had waaay to many of them in my time... :p

Yeah, it does!

And as expected fooled. It's origins are NYC in the USA. Made by Italian immigrants though! Immigrant food is the best, because it's often a combination of cultures!

haha jokes on you Mime I know that's Kangaroo noodles with seasoned crocodile blood,
and topped off with some fried Koala bear patties.

Because you come from a land down under!

Google says raw ones abe bitter. The iced tea that I like are so sweet, I would never guess. Hahaha

We also have churros that are different from the traditional ones.

They're more "flat" (don't know the right word) and less fluffy than our bolinho de chuva, but they're not as crispy as the original either, but the sugar is the same as the bolinho.
They're shorter and wider and have a hole in the middle, where you pour a sweet sauce. 😋

Trivia: in Portugal they're called porra recheada, which is "filled cum" to us brazilians. 🤣
I think brazilians start using Portugal's words as "dirty" words here just to fuck with them.

I don't know how European pancakes nor Yorkshire pudding are, but I'll just consider them as bolinho de chuva cousins. Hahaha

I also did, but potatoes are never enough!

Yeah I've seen churros with chocolate sauce or filled with stuff. We also have fried Twinkies

Deep-Fried-Twinkies-6-1024x680.jpg

Maybe European pancakes are crepes? That's what I would think of. And Pudding in UK English is practically a catch-all word for food, it's the name for a ton of different dishes that don't have anything obviously in common (Google says it has to do with the cooking method) (vs US where it's a specific kind of dessert).

Hey! We have those too! They're great!

I thought churros were Spain, not Mexico... Am I wrong about that? Obviously they'd have them in Mexico and the USA, just from the Spanish colonists and immigrants in both countries' histories.
Entirely possible, but by that metric there's no such thing as American food :D Other than pemmican.
