I think you might be right. Did you try all the other weird Big Cup "flavours" they came out with- the ones with the Reese's pieces, potato chips, Reese's Puffs, and Caramel- just to name a few?
There used to be a pizza place near me that had a pizza special which was buffalo sauce, grilled chicken and crushed potato chips. It was actually pretty good. On the other hand I ordered pizza with mashed potato on it in Japan and loved it so maybe I'm just weird.
Just FYI, the "Man on the Street" style of interviews and stuff like that really does go for lowest common denominator.
I'm not saying people aren't stupid, they are, but it's not everyone.
They have to film a LOT of people to find the truly stupid (or dumb and funny). Sometimes they film for multiple days to get good footage. Ever notice how the segment will almost always have one person that appears multiple times? The people who get the questions right aren't funny!
Another example is those food reality shows: Food Paradise, Bizarre Foods, Diner's Drive-Ins with Guy Fieri, etc. They film little 5-10 minutes spots about one food or diner or restaurant. Each little 10 minutes takes them 4-8 hours to film.
I always wonder about that with those interviews, even ones where they're interviewing a limited crowd, e.g. people at a protest about their political beliefs I wonder how many they have to ask before they find someone talking about how everything is colonialism or everyone with brown skin needs to go back to Mexico to feature on the show.

There are Native American tribes that refuse to share many stories and tradition with anyone who isn't devoted to the tribe. in the next breath, they complain about the erasure of their way of life and culture. Their language is disappearing because nobody can learn it? Oh, because only these few people are allowed to teach it, outside of school? Fuck right off with all that bullshit.
These scenarios don't just arise due to the culture involved. Were there not several decades/centuries where teaching the Native language was illegal. There have been several instances around the world through history where indigenous peoples or cultures have been systematically suppressed and attempts made to eradicate anything that is not approved of by the authorities in charge. Think about the effects of all those Christian missionaries from the European Colonial expansion era. Same as all those forced relocations of communities from areas that were of significance to those cultures just because those forcing the movement felt they had more right to it because they had more power.

You're not entirely wrong, but those things aren't happening now. Small native communities have become fairly isolated due to their own choices. Choices informed by the past, sure, but still their own choices that aren't congruous with modern reality. The size and isolation means there's very few opportunities which drives away younger tribe members who want to make something of their lives. These people are strangling themselves to keep their distance from long dead historical figures.

Also, a lot of the knowledge we have of those cultures exists because missionaries made sure to write down as much about their history, language, and society as they could. Conquerors, colonists, and explorers were perfectly content to destroy the culture's they found in order to control those people. Actual missionaries were usually opposed to the destruction and exploitation they'd find when they arrived. There aren't a whole lot of people who believe strongly enough to dedicate their lives to faith while still being ok with slavery and murder.

That knowledge that has been preserved till now will only survive for as long as the people controlling it and those in power deem that it is convenient to do so. The moment it's not we're back to 'book burnings' again.

And to say these things aren't happening now I will direct you to looking into whats happening to the Uyghur Muslims.

I absolutely loath Reese Pieces, they're the candy corn of Reeses. I never tried any of the weird stuff, though. White chocolate a couple times. But, why mess with perfection?
I like Reese's Pieces. Although I also enjoy candy corn, so I'm probably just weird. White chocolate Reese's are ok. White chocolate M&Ms however are downright addictive.

There's a place near me that makes a baked potato pizza and it's delicious. Potato seems to be an excellent pizza topping in general that doesn't get enough love.

At a protest probably not many. Just walking the streets on an ordinary day they probably talk to about 5 times as many people as they feature in the video.

It feels like you are writing this from the perspective that it doesn't happen now, even if you aren't. This still happen in places like china, many Muslim countries or USA. In some it's done on a Governmental level, in others in a social or religious one, but the end result is mostly the same.

It's a lot harder to burn every copy of a book than it is to take out a small community. Especially these days with cloud storage and digital media. The fact that people in power can become a problem isn't really an excuse to not do what you can to preserve your community and culture.
And to say these things aren't happening now I will direct you to looking into whats happening to the Uyghur Muslims.
I was generally talking about the US and other first world countries with native/aboriginal populations. The Uighurs aren't isolated by choice.

My error was probably in the tense chosen in what I was saying. I was trying to say that it does still happen now and can, or probably most likely will, happen again.

I was using 'book burnings' as a shorthand for organized destruction/suppression of knowledge no matter it's format.

Consider for a moment that China has developed an internet that is pretty autonomous/isolated from the main one so they can restrict what their population sees and Russia has also been developing such a system. Yes the people can use VPN's to get around such restrictions but you would need to get access to one first and how would you successfully purchase/download one in a state that could already be watching everything you do/buy. Then in that vacuum you start to alter history and events to suit your narrative and justify your actions. You just repeat the same statement over and over and over again until the population accepts it and forgets that its not true.

I think we disagree fundamentally on our outlook on this. You appear to be more on the optimistic/idealistic side of the scale where I slide more into the cynical/pessimistic side. Don't misunderstand me. I would like for the fullness of time to prove me wrong, I just don't think it will.

No celebration for page 1,000 ? No special coin win ?
IDK but i think this thread has not given any coins to anyone for it haha.
Only the OG thread gifted coins to devotees....

Because almost all of them are extremely low effort. We all know the number,
there is no reason to mention it

I guess that's fair, but does that mean you can't celebrate certain things? I mean, youtubers celebrate reaching certain numbers despite anyone being able to see how many that person has.

I can understand someone only mentioning the page number, but finding it cool that the thread reached a certain number shouldn't be as bad.

nobody need coins anymore, it's frustrating to give you, like, 1-5k coins when you have 800k+, and don't make me start talking about the fact that half of this thread is good morning / good night. I have no idea where I failed, but I definitely failed with this one

I have tried all of those and the pretzel ones (that's my cheat candy I buy if I see a new version when at the gas station) the only one worth it is the chips. Worth it might be a stretch it was the only good one at least.

Never tried white chocolate mnms will buy next time i see them. Baked potato pizza sounds like it would be amazing, did they have different "flavor pizzas"? if not what came with that?

Any chance you happen to remember the names of both places so others of questionable taste could try those intriguing items?

May not agree with your chocolate choice, but the peanut buttery goodness wins!

Enjoy! You won't, but you can try. Follow your dreams, and you too can one day be disappointed.

Cloud storage does a terrible job in keeping info. its much easier for information to be lost when a server goes down or some data is corrupted or people stop paying to keep the lights on. there's a scary % of how much of the old internet is gone. Books preserve better. Also there's an arguement that not every culture and religion should be preserved. some are good and some are just as hateful and wrong as the cultures destroying theirs. Plus if England is anything to go by importing cultures without having them adapt to your culture is a recipe for disaster. The old immigration system the US had allowed cultures to survive and even thrive (there are more 'Irish' Living in America than in Ireland for example) but allowed them to integrate themselves into American culture without losing their Identity. The only cultures that don't seem to integrate well are some sects of muslim theocratic areas. If you walk down the streets of london you might mistake yourself for having walked into Iran. Similar things happen to the people of those cultures in Myanmar, China, india, Sweden and they bring very little positive changes to the culture in the melding pot since they refuse to meld in. Instead we get situations where genocide happens and Sweeden goes from lowest rate of violent crime in the world to having hundreds of hand grenade related crimes each year. Even Japan is having issues with their immigration causing a MASSIVE increase in crime and they're mostly only bringing in college educated people from the US and EU.

tbh, when i see good morning/evening and a what are u doing, or how u doing, etc, Its not that bad. I mean, theres a lot of parallel talk, so many replies with many replies in it. When a person try to read it, is sometimes hard to understand and blend in the conversation, so that simple good evening how what are you doing, gives the opportunity to engage. Sure there's the low efforts that only say good day, but for me is just a little downside to the benefit.

I wouldn't say no-one need coins

One of my least favorite part of back reading. useless fluff. On the other hand more chances to spread sleaze around so...

What is this show about? Is it a comedy? American or British (yes, that will make a huge difference). :p
Hi, Yes it is a crime-a-dy kinda like "Fubar" and "Poker Face" A down and out detective in the Florida Keys wants his job back and along the way finds a severed arm that he tries to connect to a body. (American yes)
