I don't mind a long movie at all, actually. I think if it's going to to be 3 hours or more, I would want an intermission in the theater, but I watch everything in home, so no worries there.
What I didn't like was Justice League. Then, they added an hour to the runtime and acted like it was a completely different movie. Sure, there were new parts and new characters. But, it was the same drivel after it all the edits.
It's like adding whipped cream to spoiled food.

Me, I kinda liked the Snyder cut.

However I won't pretend that the rule of contrast wasn't HEAVILY influencing me.

I wasn't in the room, but the rumors were that it was Leto's Joker. He decided to act like that. And being a method actor, he decided that before filming began and during the whole shoot.
He even said they edited and cut every scene he was in. The director (I think) said they removed 40 minutes from the beginning of the movie, so maybe that's where all the Joker stuff was. There was even a 'Snyder-Cut' type of online push for an extended version, and the director said it's not happening.
IMO Leto was a bad Joker and did a bad job.

Speaking personally, that's why I'd never hire a method actor.

Some are great, sure. Plenty of good movies with them.
But me? I'd be: "Ok. The best actor is a method actor. Let's go with the SECOND best actor for the part.

I know I'm in the minority but I kinda liked Secret Invasion, granted, mainly for ONE reason:
It had the least humour of any Marvel product in a while. (at least imo)

It had plenty of problems. I will totally admit that. But I *HATE* the hyuk hyuk Marvel Humour. (or most humour for that matter)
So Secret Invasion (though there is SOME Marvel Humour in it) gets a pass from me.
Unfortunately, BECAUSE it was so universally hated, instead of fixing the MANY problems Secret Invasion had (few/none of which were humour related)... Marvel execs / algorithm will go "See?! Being serious didn't work! We need more humour!! MORE HUMOUR!!!"

That may not work if the drive unmounts itself. Forgot to ask the all important question- IS it a Sandisk drive? Those have been crapping out left and right due to inferior chips and contact with cases.
I bought a 4TB Sandisk SSD when they were a steal on Amazon and in less than a month- it started unmounting, reading data intermittently, reporting unrecoverable errors, just disappearing from File Explorer with no notification... Luckily, I bought a better 4TB SSD and was able to save all of my Benny Hill stuff.

What you said on your post I consider more of theme than a genre. There are more serious movies, and more goofy ones, and they sure "borrow" elements from other genres of movies, but to me not enough to be considered a different genre. It all follow the same formula of action/adventure/comedy that for me it's the same in almost all movies, with flashy battles, funny dialogues and such.
Don't get me wrong, I also liked most of them, but I kinda had enough with it, and I hoped that they varied more.
And yeah, RDJ recast smells like despair to me. Or should I say zetsubou? Did you had anything to do with it, Monokuma???

Was it a recast? That's what we'll find out next summer with Fanastic 4, I think.
