Inclusion of animation sells me quicker on trying a game. If it's all images, then I usually want a larger quantity of images with the game. It's frustrating when a game has several paragraphs of text but just sits on one image for all of it.

Eh, I can live with both as long as the artstyle is good.

while i prefer animation, i would have to choose stills as my old pc can't handle the animated renders when playing.

images all the way, animations can be nice but it's gonna be a really risky gamble if they are good or not

If you focus only on animations, you will miss some interesting titles, so it's worth trying every cake, but you don't have to consume all of it.

Good animation is better, but often animations are bit crap tbh. Well done still renders or 2-3 frame "animation" is better than crappy animation. Especially if that gives faster update cycle.

A game with good animations always beats stil images.

But I would prefer still images over a game with bad animations. There is nothing worse than bad animations.

A good animation is definitely a nice bonus, but I prefer a handful of stills to bad animation.

it's always the story that matters. rest just amplifies if done well.

Good images are better than bad animation. It all depends on how the work is done, good or bad.

I can live without animations as it takes alot of times for some devs. But I don't dislike them

Defo agree with some of the posts here. good animation

I also prefer animations over still images. But often still images are better made than animations.

animation adds to it for sure, but some of my favorite games and scenes just had stills. it's all about execution

With everything else being equal then i'd always choose animation. But there's more to what makes a game good than just that so it just depends
