I prefer that games have animation, but there's still some non-animated games that include gorgeous artwork and/or voice acting

While I also prefer my pixels moving, at one point if the release window of a game is heavily affected bn the time it takes to render the hundreds of renders for animations, I'll take static images all day.

Decent fluid animation is generally better. A two or three frame animation is worse.
What I don't like is when a dev has a full animation for someone walking or something, and then their sex scenes have little to no animation.

I ignore basically any game without animation and quickly ditch games with bad animation. There's so many other options out there. Why bother with stills for porn?

Totally agree. Plus so many games with just CG look the same. There's tons of it out there and it's mass-produced with little or no effort.

In general, I prefer the animations. But sometimes they are so poorly made that the images are more comfortable

In 2D games, I can sometimes live with still images, but animations are always better.

I forgot to factor in shitty animations when making the thread... oh well

Animations > no animations > Shitty animations.
If a game has exactly what I'm looking for, I'm fine with no animations.

Animations often enhance the game. But of course they are also more work.

Animation is kind of essential at this point though it all comes down to good writing and pacing

Animation. If I wanted still images, I would just go find some hentai manga and call it a day.

I can confirm that just as well

Games without animation, if the graphics are good, are excellent. When there is animation, often the body of the characters is quite well done, but in several games, the face lacks emotion and that spoils all the interest.

Good animations really elevate a game, but bad animations are worse than just well made still renders, in my opinion.

I enjoy good animations with realistic...err..."physics". I could do without the animations where only part of the models move, then it reverses, then plays again, etc.
