A former moderator gained access to users’ sensitive information through the site’s backend and threatened to leak it. To protect everyone, the site owner announced the site would be shut down and gave users a grace period before the closure.

During that period, the site was hit with DDoS attacks, which only pissed the owner off, leading them to reverse the shutdown decision out of spite toward the attackers.

the ADMIN gave full access to everything thinking that this (i met them on a questionable website on the internet) was a trustable person. said person put a backdoor in the site to gain access if they were ever removed (you can guess the rest)

I can't speak for others, but with the exodus that happened not too long ago, it seems like there's been more flexibility on that front. Although it does remind me that they at ATF have a stricter policy against talking about LewdCorner (at least that's how it was the last time I heard about it, which was about a month ago).
