Yeah, I haven't had too much free time lately and get a bit nervous butting in to ongoing conversations... hopefully I can be a bit more active from here on lol

There are no private conversations, and no one will say anything mean to you or make fun of you for joining conversations.
People here tend to be pretty laid-back, and even when things get heated, they usually keep it civil (there are exceptions, but they don't last long here).

I'll keep that in mind- I've always been a complete lurker on every forum or site I use, so actually having to post and interact is kinda out of character for me (ᵕ—ᴗ—) It does seem to be pretty chill here though ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶

but hey, this reply finally got me to 100, nearly 1/3 of the way there now ( ◡̀_◡́)ᕤ
None of us know each other, most of those actively talking are just grinding coins same as you. call out to the abyss and see if it answers.

A simple greeting will probably get you a couple likes and maybe a reponse but will probably dead end there because theres no substance. What you are really looking for is a post or reply that demands followup in a way that others can leave room on the table for you to continue the conversation.

Try sparking a conversation about something you have knowledge on because then its easier to yes-and without feeling weird about it, and if its generic enough, you might drag in other lurkers who need a little encouragement too. Could be anything. Like this vv

What was your favorite arc of Hunter Hunter?

Who watches anime here?
Not as much as I used to, but I've been rewatching some older ones I dropped ages ago. Recently started watching Re:Zero again on a friends recommendation, it's pretty good far! And I just finished Planetes, incredibly underrated imo- it's the only hard sci-fi anime I've seen, I wish there were more like it out there (ㅅ´ - `)

Never heard of planetes, whats it about?

The only thing that will be made fun of here is people who are naked when they are not supposed to be. Because that's my fetish
Same brother i love playing game with mod that remove "Unecesary clothe part" of npc and character.

The view of utopia world where it is normal to bare your genetalia for everyone to see is turning me on

It's a hard sci-fi about a team of space debris collectors in the nearish future. It's mostly a mature workplace slice of life, and is by far the most realistic space sci-fi anime I've seen. Very good characters, some really pretty animation, and interesting messages.

If you've seen Vinland Saga, it was made by the same person iirc. Def recommend it!

Pretty sure on a porn games forum the ratio would be up there! Who watches classics vs's new releases?
The only recently released anime I've watched in the past couple years (and finished) are Frieren and Dungeon Meshi, I think? I've mostly been watching older stuff recently- Great Teacher Onizuka, YuYu Hakusho, etc. Idk if the Ranma 1/2 remake counts as a classic, new release or something in between, but I liked that one too lol.

The thing I like is with the classics its like getting into a band that has 7 albums released, you can go and binge everything (went through tri gun in a day)

i've never heard of this before
Try as I might but I can't find the original article. But many years back, there was an author(Light novel, I think) who wanted to do an implied sex scene for some of his characters and got death threats from fans. He eventually did not write it.

As I understand it, this resulted in the precedent of all japanese male MCs acting like indecisive kissless virgins in most anime and novel works for a long time; you may lay the blame on rabid fan waifu obsessions.

Take this anecdote with a grain of salt, I may be remebering things wrong.

True true, I liked Frieren and Dungeon Meshi a lot, but it's soooo painful knowing I'll have to wait half a decade to see the end, if ever... It's nice to just be able to watch a show through to the end- plus I can know in advance whether or not the ending will be worth it lol.

(also thanks for reminding me that I need to add Trigun to my watchlist)

Code Guease was my favorite, problem with new anime is if its popular they start to pad the runtime...

I think that was the point :) bro got a two year old account. That was just throwing a bone to coax the shy ones out of the shadows.

That being said, do you got any recommendations for slept on classics?

Those were great. I feel like its been forever since the last season of Dungeon Meshi. Doesn’t Trigger know we need more dragon-sister boobs?

I know that feeling all too well, I just go to the manga right after cuz I'm too impatient, then I go to the novels when I get caught up and drop it after a chapter or two cuz it doesn't hit the same
