As to the fallout games I got 4 as it's supposed to be the easiest - I can barely get out of the HOUSE. The controls are so wonky I keep walking into walls and get killed at best right after where the 2 soldiers are guarding. Trying to turn results in like a 360 degree spin and it's not even all that clear where you're supposed to GO. WTF?

AI said to turn the sensitivity way down but another thing is I'm not used to FPS games at all. I gave up on them more than a decade ago as all were WAY too difficult.

I totally get that. I'd say lower the sensitivity until the game gives you some freedom, and then adjust it to whatever feels most comfortable for you.

I would argue "can't get killed without trying", at the very least have some minor danger for tension/telling the player what's dangerous
