Because it is abnormal behavior. It is not normal at all to be attracted to kids, and thus it is a different kind of lifestyle you have to live if you are. One filled with paranoia, guilt, shame etc. Knowing you are one and never acting on it is noble, but it is also a life of constantly being tested, especially if you are a parent. I'm not one but I can sympathize with those that are for their struggle. It can't be easy.

And it's terrible in that there are many threads in there (at least from my recollection) that aren't about that topic at all. The dumb political threads are in there, as well as gooners looking for people to goon with are in there, as well as other just stupid topics. A lot of them aren't even serious and are just ragebait-y. The thing about bait is it almost always works. That's why I say it's a terrible place.

I haven't logged onto ATF in almost 2 years so I am not particularly sad to see it go, but that's just my opinion. The political threads in there have got to be pretty bad since I was last there pre-Trump 2.0, and I hated it then. It can only have gotten worse since, no matter where one might fall on the political spectrum. They also tended to have the most engagement since people are falling over themselves to get upset over things they can't change.

As one of the mods there for the game dev and game mod section, it does bring sadness to my heart to see the community having to spread out its' wings.
Perhaps it's better this way. But I can say that there's talk among the moderators for a potential solution. Nothing concrete yet.

I'm doing what I can to help and facilitate the content creators from the sections I moderate to help them settle into other communities as best I can.
Right now, I'm just trying to get to that elusive member+ access so that I can actually report what it all looks like and how it all works for those that need some kind of confirmation.

Hate to see it all go away I wondering where the games that arent finished yet going like Flatzcheez 3 even though anda is kinda a jerk. I still miss waiting 4+ years for an hour of more gameplay

I'm sad to see ATF closing, been there for awhile, mostly downloading games and videos. Was nice to get updates on games there. Hopefully this site can bring the same enjoyment for me eventually

Let me ask you something: what's wrong about ****philes using lolisho to satisfy our urges instead of using CSAM or even abusing real children?
We are not the monsters the media portrait us as being. We have the same ability of self control every one else has. You do not rape any pretty woman you see, right? Neither do we rape any child. We love children, why would we hurt them?
In fact, about 80% of child sexual abuse cases are done by non-****philes.
Maybe you should take the opportunity to learn what we are actually like.

To be fair the main complain i and others had about grayzoneposting in ATF was that things were often too real, i've seen several postings of people talking about lusting over real people, their fantasies and etc.. as those 80% i think you mean "that pose as normal people". I'm of the mindset that repressed tendencies tend to grow up like a tumor and explode so they need to be adressed but not fed as that may lead to addiction. Consuming lolisho is ok if done in isolation like most extreme/niche kinks, but it needs a more mature mindset to prevent misunderstandings and malicious acts, and thus it is relegated to closer more controlled places and comunities. When things blur into real life tho, it brings risks both to the place and the person, talking about your fantasies that veer into criminal territory after an interaction with a real person is something that should be done in a much more closed enviroment than just a forum, preferably with professional assistance to keep it healthy and prevent escalation. I'd say at best a supervised (so things don't go criminal) group therapy thread that is deleted later. Tho these are mainly my thoughts rather than pure truth

The grey zone is about real life, not lolisho. To be precise about real life attractions, not real life abuse. I think almost all who go there agree that acting on these attractions is bad, but we might disagree on the reason why it's bad.
The 80% mean 80% of those who have in real life sexually abused a child. True ****philes (as diagnosed by professional psychologists, not self confessed) are the minority among those. Most are attracted to adults and just use children because they are easier victims, present more opportunities, whatever. The exact numbers vary by source, but all agree that ****philes are the minority.
Repression builds up desire, as was learned during the american prohibition time. But you can substitute real children very well with drawings, animations, ai-generated images, stories, sex dolls, ... There are so many things that do not involve any real children ****philes can use to satisfy their desires at least partially. That can lead to addiction in about the same way normal porn and sex toys can for teleiophiles. But taking away those outlets is stupid if you really care about protecting children.
Equally important is the opportunity to comminicate openly with our peers. Social control within peer groups is an important corrective instrument for detecting and controlling problematic behaviour. A **** who is alone with his thoughts might turn down dangerous paths, but if he can communicate openly and without fear his friends will push him back on the right path. The grey zone is such a place and in my opinion actually increases child safety.

The majority of ****philes is actually quite well adjusted and no danger to any child. They definitely don't need therapy. Some few do, but a forum is no place for that.
Our fantasies are just that, and our ability for self control is just as good as with any other person. Do you suspect anyone who is sexually attracted to adult women of being in danger of veering into criminal territory after interacting with a real person? We are actually more conscious of potentially problematic behaviour than the average teleiophile. Self preservation dictates that.

True, it's not normal. But it's also no choice. A lifestyle is something you choose. That's why I have a problem with that term.
To be honest to me it was never that much of a problem to be a parent. I love kids, and of course especially my kids, way more than I lust for them. That love puts their wellbeing front and center in all things. No struggle, no guilt, no shame. To be honest, if anything my ****philia is a source of pride. I's easy to hold the moral high ground if you never feel the temptation. I feel it and never succumb to it. That's what requires true moral. But then, as I said, to me that's no real struggle.

It's a window into the mind of those people. And if you engage them they immediately show the shallowness of their arguments. By and large I ignore those threads. People should be free to express their thoughts, and in the process expose their true nature. I'm no free speech absolutist, but I don't believe in censorship either.

I love a good discussion. I pick the topics I feel worthy of my attention and simply ignore others. Sometimes I engage not to convince the other poster, but to put out the truth for others to see.

That's a distinction without a difference to most people. Paraphilic disorders are well documented. In the end, it really doesn't weigh in for them. They were taken down from within. Not from without. And, if you are implying it was a 'safe place' or therapeutic forum is misguided. Unless it is structured by a professional psychologist, it will often reinforce behavior (thinking is a behavior). For example, you never ever put two anorexics in the same hospital room as they will 'feed' each others distorted thinking processes. There is however a good argument that transient behavior (like playing a game then moving on) isn't reinforcing. Like, millions play games where they kill people all day long, but they don't go out killing. The issue is when you have a group obsessing over a particular habit that has negative consequences and begin forming cognitive distortions. What I believe you're doing here, for example. There are resources for real therapeutic assistance. A.T.F. isn't one though.

No judgement. Just a clarification for anyone that believes that it's therapeutic to immerse themselves in the topic. That said, I like exploring the dynamics on a story and psychological level. I develop games outside this genera too
