Back in May, 2025 I was suffering from health problems and burnout, due to which my absence from ATF was long enough for the staff to get really worried. Contingency plans were made, @JohnMolotov (who had been removed from the staff earlier) was brought back due to his technical knowledge to make a backup of the forum's database, just in case. This was possible by gaining shell access by leveraging Xenforo's plugin system.

Not too long after I finally resurfaced. I questioned John about the backup and these still existing backdoors they built to run arbitary code on the site. I removed their bakcdoors and John said he had deleted the database when they saw I had returned.

I wonder how involved of this JohnMolotov in other similar platform, like here?
seem like a name I would have seen before?

Damn just read about the ATF situation, best of luck to all the refugees, creators and users alike. Can't say I'm surprised that it's interpersonal drama that is what ultimately lit everything on fire, nothing will go nuclear quite like people bickering, especially former partners.
Hope the former creators reach out or provide info on all perpetrators involved to other such forums so others can't try and avoid having them on their sites too.

They did. Main idiot's name is JohnMolotov. Installed backdoors into the server database while he was support lead, then was removed from staff for being a douche to people, and used his backdoors to download a copy of the database, and blackmail the current owner of ATF into banning all the people that didn't like John, then give the entire ATF forum over.

Which is why now they either have to find a way to rebuild the server without the backdoors, and in such a way that the copied database is rendered useless, or nuke the entire server for the safety of everyone.

I played this in it's infancy and was amazing. OPENMW crew is kickass.

Why.. not just buy a plane ticket? You can quite easily see the curve from a plane window, and it's FAR cheaper than literal rocket science.
And even if they believe that all commercial planes have fisheye windows or something stupid, then it's still easier and cheaper to get your own pilot's license, built an entire kit plane from scratch so you know exactly how it's built, then fly that and see the curve..

I watched a documentary about him. He didn't really give a flying fuck about their beliefs...He was just a daredevil and they were willing to fund him...so much like Winston Zeddemore, they gave him a steady paycheck...he would believe anything they said. heh

The curvature of the earth is kinda visible at the altitude commercial airliners fly, but to properly see it you'd have to exceed 60,000 ft. (18km+). Most General Aviation (GenAv) isn't going to be able to reach those heights. Your typical prop job Piper or Cessna...aren't going to go higher than 10k. You need pressurization, and most piston driven aircraft aren't going to go much higher than 30k. You'd need to move to jet aircraft...


The Concorde flew at 60k and people saw the curvature.

Difficult where would you go to? I lived in germany, I'm glad I was gone before covid. Every country has some problems, it's all bad, but some like paris and london and probably baby Berlin are lot worse. Even though it's getting bad here, USA also has it's problems.

And for every other country you need to learn another language.

To be fair, people from ATF (Like myself) are directed to talk in this thread.
And in order to see the things people from ATF want to see, we need to get members+, which requires 250 coins. Thus forcing us to be postaholics.
