2 Questions:
1: @Kernist are we going to get along just like fire hoses?

2: The Shop Ranks and cash reset: Is that all shop rank to be purchased, or all shop ranks that have been purchased? I ... I ... I ... oughta Knoohoooow!
1. If you phrased the question like that then you already know the answer.
2. I... don't understand the question.

I just wanna know if I lose the ranks I have, or is only the shop Rank structure changing? Thanks.

Ironically you answered your own question.

No, because of:

Exactly, you are right on the mark, system we have now promotes bullshit posts and this is the meta way of farming coins. That's why we will introduce new system, to fight exactly what you said. All the millionaires, do you think they got their AC by contributing something meaningful or by "shitposting" in this thread and by clicking a button daily that gave them percentage of the coins earned that way? That's why we don't want any conversion, rewards for gathered AC etc.
Hence why I said all conversions should be capped.

Call me short sighted but I'm failing to see how one could collect the new coins in a way that's truly meaningful and different from the current system (bank aside).

Sadly many of the older billionaire and millionaire coin members have abandoned ship as the saying goes.

Anyway it'll be nice to see more information on the new coin system.

Also the old guides will have to be rewritten or deleted as well.

As for shit-posting and spam I hope it slows down but I doubt it will. It's human nature at play.

You will keep the ranks you have, maybe they will change names or banners will look different (we don't know yet) but you will keep all the access they give you.

I already said earlier what I think about the capping idea. As for second part of your post, well there are possibilities (keep in mind that whatever I say now is not what will happen, just examples).

We could move this thread to offtopic and prevent offtopic threads from earning coins. We could limit how many coins you get daily from reactions. We can make normal posts give less coins but giving reviews, making game threads or sharing other resources could give a lot of coins. There are ways to promote "meaningful" stuff.

So more will just spam reviews instead of regular posts then? As I can see that happening.

Like I wrote before many just want member+ and go back to lurking. Ergo shit-posting and spam to get it.

Well, even if we can't stop shitposting and spam we can at least stop rewarding for it.

It's not easy, balancing everything the way to be not too easy, not too grindy and without promoting negative behavior. Different members of staff view things differently and ultimately it's Heisenberg who needs to make final call and he will get the heat for the decision, and oh boy, some people are just waiting for it. The only thing I know for sure is that someone will be unhappy, because I don't know if there was ever any decision anywhere that everyone liked.

We will always take the path with the least resistance to get something.
If the effort needed is too big, we might stop and do something else.

I might suggest a sliding scale, à la a 'progressive taxation' scheme:
At the lowest bracket [decided by the deciders], there's very low or zero loss of coins. Perhaps under... 500 or 50, for example.
At each scaling bracket, one loses...

Actually a great way to make a sliding scale that hurts everyone equally is to make it an inverse exponent: a Root of some sort: Like Coins^(1/2) or Coins^(2/3) or whatever gets the general results that the deciders are aiming for.

Well, not if reviews will require minimum amount of characters or if reviews from accounts below certain rank would have to be approved by staff before being rewarded with coins. Anyway that is probably not happening because from what I know reviews work differently from usual posts and there would have to be some coding done for them to get coins.

Yes, yer all correct.

As a gamer (and I suspect that the vast majority of us are), I know that I try to Min/Max everything. Making the correct balance of 'Reward vs Grind' in whatever game you're making (and the Coins system is a 'Game') is very difficult, for several reasons.

First, I know that I'm lazy asf, and anything that takes a ton of time for too little reward will likely deter me (unless it's something I just like to do). But even if I like to do the inefficient thing, if there's something that's markedly more efficient that I like doing less, I'll likely 'grind' that and 'play' at the inefficient thing.

Second, players (and people in general) will argue in their own self interest, for the most part. Even if they suspect or know that it's not for the 'public good' or the good of whoever they're doing business with. As a shopper, I strive never to pay more than I absolutely have to, yet I get irritated if I see 'unfair' deals for people who don't analyze prices or are bad at math (Here's an ' Jumbo Super Economy Pack' of 64 condoms, on SALE! only $60, and here's the 'Normal priced pack' of 24 for $20).

People are a problem.

Well my....I'm offended by that post above mine. I only recently became a millionaire with the coins.

Kidding but man that post was brutal and generalized.🫢
yeah, sorry Teddy bear.

you're an exception, heck the only place I knew you from, was the game threads and wut-not, giving feedbacks and so on, not that I liked all your feedbacks. lol

Made enough AC to get legend after selling elite back. :D

You're an absolute baller, w ma g.

I find that as a gamer, I prefer when the numbers are small: if you get one coin for doing various things, but only say 5 per day, I feel like 500 coins might be OK for a very desirable thing, and 50 or even 15 for 'normal' stuff. If people can earn 500 or 5,000 coins per day, then prices for stuff would have to inflate commensuratey.

If I had a say in the upcoming "activity coins" numbers system; cap daily earnings at a [low] number then price the shop stuff by "number of active days needed to buy this if the poster is too cheap to pony up any cash'.

That's if I had a say.

Yeah I stuck to the game threads for months and barely posted in this thread.

Didn't get rich till that insider Mining App incident.

As for not liking my feedback on games shame on you....I'm rarely wrong....kidding that's fine.

At least you don't give finger or puking reactions with no comment or explaining why.
