I find that as a gamer, I prefer when the numbers are small: if you get one coin for doing various things, but only say 5 per day, I feel like 500 coins might be OK for a very desirable thing, and 50 or even 15 for 'normal' stuff. I might suggest a sliding scale, à la a 'progressive taxation' scheme: At the lowest bracket [decided by the deciders], there's very low or zero loss of coins.
