You're absolutely right that Starship Troopers is nothing like the book but that actually wasn't my point. It wasn't like the book on purpose because Verhoeven didn't want to make essentially what critics thought he made and instead turned it into a satire which was lost on a lot of critics at the time. For example, Casper Van Dien's casting and acting was critized because he was a himbo white boy from Buenos Aires but that was the point and he was supposed to look like the perfect aryan soldier from Argentina. They even dressed his best friend Dougie Houser up in their best Hugo Boss gear when he started running crazy, unethical, and pretty stupid experiements on sentient beings for their government but I guess it was a bit a stuble for some people who watched movies and talked about them for a living.

Ah sorry missed your point now I get it. Anyway there was talk about a remake but lets face it it wont happen, as it's deemed space Nazi propaganda.

It would need to be heavily edited and with plot changes to the point it would not be the same.

nah, they just had feature they needed to add and couldnt do it with the way the site was coded before. so they had to roll back to sunday to get the updates to work properly.

I generally don't think straight remakes should be done unless it's a "good idea, bad execution" situation. If you're gonna remake something that's already good then you might as well make some big changes to it, it's not like the original is going anywhere but those changes have to be meaningful and thought out otherwise they're just slapping a random known name on some shit and hoping people won't notice before they've bought it.
