I generally don't think straight remakes should be done unless it's a "good idea, bad execution" situation. If you're gonna remake something that's already good then you might as well make some big changes to it, it's not like the original is going anywhere but those changes have to be meaningful and thought out otherwise they're just slapping a random known name on some shit and hoping people won't notice before they've bought it.

Curious how though as the Federation is an authoritarian military government with Nazi ideals. That's a core of the book and movie plot.

sorry, that comment wasn't about Starship Troopers specifically, just remakes in general. if I'm not being clear it's probably 50/50 that I've hitting my weed vape pretty hard and that I'm kinda dumb lol

I still haven't gotten around to seeing the second one but the first one was good. If it's not a spoiler in the second one, is there any real plot connection between the movies or is it like an anthology thing?

I have not because I have read a sample and it appears to ramble a bit. Both books are on my reading list though.

I think it depends on why you want Ready Player 2 or what you expect of it

I did and I actually enjoyed it. It's not the next Lord of the Rings, not even close, but it was a decently fun and quick read with enough of a plot justification for the pop culture references that it didn't break my suspension of disbelief. from what I know of the movie, it's significantly worse in basically every way.
