I genuinely believe Unteralterbach is the best loli VN ever released. The art is top notch. The amount of choices and paths is fantastic. I do wish there were more choices for what positions you can have in the scenes but considering how much you get, it is a minimal complaint. Are there any similar ones that match it in quality?

It's an actual real VN and not those typical ones you see nowadays, where you just click a few times to get to the next sex scene. People are not accustomed to actually have to read and play a VN game anymore.

Calling it terrible is an exaggeration, but calling it the best game is just as much of an exaggeration. It was one of the very first true smols VN games from the west, that's what makes it special for many.
Also it was made for a German audience, so a lot of the inside jokes and references will fly over the heads of many viewers and many references won't even work today anymore, because them being very specific for that time. Furthermore it is a political opinionated game.

The art style was what did it for me. It was pretty difficult if you tried to push to the H stuff, but once you know how it goes (i used a guide tehehe) then its pretty good, if you're into that kinda stuff

. Satire was unfiltered and taboo topics poked. If the game was released today, with new, modern set of characters and themes... I dread the backlash from some overly "puritan" groups who want to be a sheriff on the internet.

not sure if this already on games+ but there is a remaster of unteralterbach in renpy and i think they are changing the artstyle I would link it but i don't know if thats allowed on here but it's on A..T..F and if you just search "bernd and the mystery of unteralterback re-imagined" it should show up
