1. Not sure if you really took everything into account when it comes to survival in both settings, a lot of hypotheticals to make either real unpleasant to unlikely.
2. Thought it'd be clear that this wasn't adressed to you but the guy who DID compare -40 with +35.
3. But i have, though our winters are getting warmer i've had quite a few winters with below -20°C and growing up poor i didn't always have the proper clothing for the weather.
I'll stay with 'rather too cold than too hot', you can make every scenario too unpleasant for either perspective, but when we're talking about just living normally in heat or cold environment i'll chose cold.
