Yeah i know. For lesbians movies, i prefer those from women directors (if possible lesbians themselves). "La vie d'Adèle" is a good film, but director Abdellatif Kechiche is reported to have been abusive against technicians and actresses, to have male gaze sex scenes and he's also accused of sexual abuse by a woman outside of his filmmaker life, so a controversial man and not the best person to do a lesbian film.
I wasn't aware of this BTS.
Unfortunately it's a wide problem with male french actors (example: Gérard Depardieu), directors (example: Luc Besson, which is widely known for the Fifth Element) and producers, we have many Weinstein here too and they have near impunity in the name of "the French cultural exception".
The most blatant case I know of is that of roman polanski (yes, no caps). But the kind of ego involved in this kind of environment is a recipe for disaster.
