Stellaris has been fun lately.
Tons of roguelike and factory games too.
Triple A, not so much.

Thats a game ive always wanted to try. I own it but for some reason ive never played it. That and 7 days to die are games on my list once im bored with CK3.Stellaris has been fun lately.

I like the part in crusader kings 3 where paradox said "it's paradox time" and added 100 dlcsJust about the fall of the modern state of gaming to be honest. It started with Nvidia and Intel being outdone by AMD, and it eventually went to software to developers and now this hahaha. I personally hate the modern Gaming industry. I'm currently playing a game made by Paradox called Crusader Kings 3
That's where Fitgirls Repacks come in xDI like the part in crusader kings 3 where paradox said "it's paradox time" and added 100 dlcs
Haven't played Stellaris, to be honest haven't played many 4X games.Stellaris has been fun lately.

Oh, don't get me started on Satisfactory!Thats a game ive always wanted to try. I own it but for some reason ive never played it. That and 7 days to die are games on my list once im bored with CK3.
Have you played Satisfactory? One of my all time favourite games
Well gamers have a tendency to go the path of least resistance and just optimize the game to oblivion hahaSometimes balance changes make sense. When only one strat works, just as an example. But if you're going to adjust that, you need to do some pretty deep changes sometimes. This is because a meta will often point to balance problems in something else. If rock is too strong, paper is the meta.
Always playing wack-a-meta is a losing proposition. There will always be a meta. If it's healthy, let it go.
Bethesda are the most experienced in this area as they just get the modders to fix game breaking bugs for them. Todd Howard is truly a geniusA thing we don't talk about is also the best way for a company to increase durability of a game without spending more money is to make it mod friendly.
I've lost count of how many saves and playthroughs i've done in that game over the years. I reckon its because of that game that I got into city skylines and Prison Architect and all those types of games. So good!Oh, don't get me started on Satisfactory!
I love that game to death!
And it started my whole love for the automation genre!
I agree completely, I'd rather pay for expansions that add playability to the game rather than another fortnite skinDLC are still better than micro transactions and the like. Paradox exploit a niche, where they are really good (grand strategy), that's how they make money, no need for too much tricks. Nah paradox is on the Creamapi DLC list ever since CK2 DLCS haha. Best they can take from me if base game is on sale.DLC are still better than micro transactions and the like. Yeah, the updates that paradox bring out change the games in fundamental ways. I think the base games are good enough, but if you expose yourself to content creators on youtube and you see them playing through new expansions, you honestly can't not try it. So I think its definitely exploitive in a way, where they expose the gameplay elements that are exclusive to the DLC's, and the psychology of not playing with it kinda forces your hand.Another example of that is the skyrim anniversary update which was basically integrating lot of stuff created by modders to the base game.
Paradox, unlike Bethesda, is doing it in a different, less exploitative way in my opinion.
Man, I dont know if you ever heard of a Mod called DayZ? It was an Arma 2 mod back in the early 2010s, and it was massive. Until that mod, Arma was a MEGA niche game, no one knew about it except mil-simmers.They also take talented mod devs and put them on stupid games.
Never forget that they got devs for mods that got delayed or cancelled since they gave some of thes mod devs jobs to work on Fallout 76...
Happy for the modders but fucking hell why take good modders and still make bad games.

I mean you just got to learn the art of taking those DLCs for free and inserting them into your base game.Yeah, the updates that paradox bring out change the games in fundamental ways. Dota 2 was probably one of those lucky ones that succeed from mod to game and mod dev got credit for it.Man, I dont know if you ever heard of a Mod called DayZ? Anyway, Bohemia Interactive saw an opportunity to make a fucking tonne of money by hiring him to 'head' a standalone branch-off DayZ game based on the newer Arma 3 engine. It was a fucking monumental disaster (by reception), and the dev ended up leaving before the game even went to version 1.0. It's sales were crazy though, so BI got what they wanted
Fuck BI, they also followed the Business model by Bethesda of taking Mod assets, and repackaging them to sell for DLC. absolute scum class developers, but holy fuck do they make some cool games. I mean as niche as Arma is, it's potential is untapped, and you can literally do anything in that game, its sandbox is near limitless.
I thought that Microsoft buying bethesda would make the company better... sigh, at least the booty gif makes me smile
True the mod was awesome ... but it sucks nowMan, I dont know if you ever heard of a Mod called DayZ? It was an Arma 2 mod back in the early 2010s, and it was massive. Until that mod, Arma was a MEGA niche game, no one knew about it except mil-simmers.
