Live service too. I'm so sick of live services.

No, no I don't think that I'll pay full price for half a game, then keep paying you every month to finish it. Especially since it always comes with cancerous monetization. I liked Helldivers 2, but that had the same live service problems.
Hell Divers developers got sucked into believing they needed to 'balance' everything. They disliked that the game had 'metas' and it turned into a bit of a sweatfest to play. All of a sudden, your playstyle stopped mattering as much and it turned into a game where it made no difference what loadouts you chose cos everything was so god damn balanced. Nerfing the flamethrower genuinely put the nail in the coffin imo. The live service of games like this needs to stop.
Apex legends at season 2 was peak BR imo, and then they started balancing everything to the point where it was just eye rolling, and i have barely played it since.

Sometimes balance changes make sense. When only one strat works, just as an example. But if you're going to adjust that, you need to do some pretty deep changes sometimes. This is because a meta will often point to balance problems in something else. If rock is too strong, paper is the meta.

Always playing wack-a-meta is a losing proposition. There will always be a meta. If it's healthy, let it go.

Hi Yall!!!! Whats are we doing tonight?

I agree to some degree, but not every game needs to be an ultra competitive shooter. Especially Hell Divers which was at first, a very casual 3rd person shooter Co-op experience. It's not like people were gaining unfair advantages against other players.
I've used Halo as an example a lot tonight, but early halo games are the prime example of why balancing games isn't always necessary. Halo was a game where there was a very clear and obvious disparity between weapons and utilities. The power climb in games was unique, and almost always led to different experiences. You'd get crushed one game, and then the following game you'd probably end up crushing the other team. That was the beauty of it, it wasn't a competitive shooter but a fun party-element game set in an fps. It's another thing I think modern games have done so bad, is allowing players the ability to be crushed, or do the crushing. Like, remember in mw2 when literally every prestiged player ran akimbo 1887s? That was the shit, and there was a want and a need to progress your character down the tree to gain access to that. These days however, there's no incentive.

100%, I mean look what happened to CDPR as soon as they outgrew their little studio. Cyberpunk released as a mess because the investors wanted a quick pay day. That game had so much potential, especially after TW3. That game, still to this day, is the reason I will never pre-order anything again. Developers see it as an easy out when money is already laid down.

Wise course of action that I follow myself. It helps that I have a backlog the size of Elon's ego. I'm a bit tired of paying to be a beta tester for some big developer.
I sometimes make exceptions for Nintendo/Sony releases, but even that a rarity.

I agree and disagree. The good news is the company has taken the steps and done tons of work fixing the game. Yes it was overhyped and definitely not worth the money at the time, but I loved the story and had fun. Some companies see $$$ and do that, but the developers are the ones who will fix it. Look at the success of No Mans Sky, the developers have given out so much cool updates completely for free.

The problem with 2077 was that it was completely broken on consoles on launch (and far from bug free on PC) and lacking key features.
That paired with ther statements on previous gen consoles ruffled a few feathers and rightly so.
Hopefully they learned their lesson and apply it to Witcher 4.

You got to think about the CEOs they need more money to stay afloat haha

A CEO always lands on his feet. He'll find a way to jostle the numbers in order to get his bonuses, while the rank an file employees will pay for them.

Ubisoft is utterly over. The trust they have lost in the community and their inability to deliver a game worthy of playing for even 15 minutes, is humurous. Crazy to think they made one of the absolute banger games in Farcry 2 and 3.

The brilliant idea to postpone the release of Shadows near that of MHWilds could easily be the last nail on their coffin.

we talking broken games on launch?

That sounds hard!!!
eh could be worse there's 2 more levels down I could go
C: way oversimplified explanation is c++ is just a easier version of C to write
Assembly: Basically impossible although I do know some people code small projects in it
Binary: not possible by humans

day 1 patches being so massive has to be one of the defining traits of the "AAA" industry rn. do they not any bug testing?????

played helldivers2 for months, but eventually it got really shitty.
stopped playing just after the fire bundle thing dropped and they changed the sound effects on my favourite gun for no reason

Oh are you gonna be creating anything interesting? :p

still going with no sleep, although daughter bought me a McDonalds breakfast. So thats a nice little bonus
But why no sleep? Couldn't you sleep or is it by choice? 🤔

Just about the fall of the modern state of gaming to be honest. It started with Nvidia and Intel being outdone by AMD, and it eventually went to software to developers and now this hahaha. I personally hate the modern Gaming industry. I'm currently playing a game made by Paradox called Crusader Kings 3, and its the freshest breath of air i've had in games since i first played Hell Divers. I've actually been unable to put it down, probably got like 150 hours in it over 3 weeks xd

i always struggled sleeping though out my life, so i ended up worked nights for a long time and that just always struggled adjusting the sleeping pattern back and forth.
