Not abandoned. It was never abandoned. It has been on hold, but work has been done on it.

Here's a progress report for the first Season 2 release. 0.07:

A third of the release is completely finished (writing, coding, artwork, animations)
Close to half of the script has been written
A recap of Season 1 is completed
Coding for starting with or without a saved game is completed
Coding has been reworked for many of the variables
The Achievement portion (which was added in the Season 1 complete edition) has been reworked to add unique image rewards

That's what I remember off-hand. There might be some other things I'm forgetting.

Same. I felt genuinely sad when the dev decided to put this on hold. I think what made even worse was that we had just lost Proud father and then seeing this potentially not coming back made me really sad.

My concern is B2S will take a while to finish. potentially a year or more. Plus _13_ posted a number of test stories for his next project. After a long wait and potentially other stories that can be more easily monetized, will he still have the motivation to continue Our Island, or worse yet the motivation to develop any games years from now. I am hopeful since he said they are slowly working on it in the background, but... it still makes me nervous that it won't see the light of day again.

I mean, the dev literally posted on this page less than three weeks ago that it's not abandoned and that he's been working on it.

And if the dev had said "slowly" or "in the background" in his most recent post on the subject, you'd have a point... But he didn't. He specifically called out progress that's been made already toward the next update of this game. And _13_ has always been communicative and open, and has been very consistent about doing what he's said he would. So casting doubt on his statements after just a few weeks deserved to be called out.

I am very well aware of the background. Which is why I'm quoting specific timelines on when the games were under development, the fact that there are 6 other demo storylines that will be worked after B2S is complete (And before you harass me about it, yes I am aware the note for those demos says Our Island will be the main game), which I was the 5th and 8th comments under that demo thread where I voted for my top 3 choices after playing them all, and specifically referenced the fact that _13_ said in the previous post that they are still working on Our Island, again indicated by the fact that I parroted the comment that the update is about 1/3 complete.

I'm stating a fact that the game has been on hold for what 10 months? Per the developer it wasn't planned to be updated until after B2S is done, which has had 5 updates since what, May 2023, if I remember correctly? Assuming it's half complete, that means it will be another 16 months before B2S is complete and they can start to finalize some release if it's even ready then. 26 months of slow development of a single update is a long time, and a lot can happen in that time that can derail the progress they've made and their intentions to eventually release it in +/- 16 months. Do you know what you'll be doing 16 months from now? Doubtful.

But since you're just spending your time assuming I don't know what's going on when I do, and straight up misrepresenting or ignoring what I've been saying, I'm just going to leave you with your completely misguided opinion. Cheers.
