What would a dev have to do in a new update to make you stop playing a really good game?

That usually happens when the dev seems to have run out of ideas for a project but doesn't want to abandon it. They might start a bunch of new stuff without continuing what they've already started or even throw some random shit into the mix that's inconsistent with game content up until then. Or, sometimes the update will be buggy as fuck. Any of that most likely will cause me to stop playing at least until the next update.

Adding NTR would be quick and easy way to get rid of me.

But one problem I've encounter is too long and overly complicated story that eventually gets boring. Seriously, you are making porn game not an epoch of any kind and your writing skills are most likely lacking, so stick with simple stories. Other one is just boring yapping dramas where nothing really happened and MC is just having moronic conversation with bunch of girls.

-adding forced dicks in a female protagonist game
-pumping up tits to de-lolify charas midgame
-changing the style of charas completely (starting as sweet nerd, ending as cheap slut)
-adding ntr
-adding buddies
-adding unexpected kinks without making them avoidable right away (if others want/like it okay, but that doesnt mean i want to see it too and i cant unsee things, so its at best a charakiller, at worst a gamekiller)
-big story holes you cant even explain away if you are fucking high
-reworking past content in the middle of the game, delaying or even scrapping your progress
-lack of motivation (it doesnt matter how good a story starts if it dulls down on the way and dies in a random porn fuckfest)

I think Corruption is a god example game on the subject.
The more you corrupt the girls the uglier they get.

Forced NTR / Death of LI would do it for me

Not a fan of devs going back to rework some stuff but i wouldn't drop

One of the biggest red flags for me is when the dev suddenly wants to "rework" the game for no reason.

Many valid points brought up and I'd echo some, but one that no one has mentioned (so its probably just me) is if updates come but typos, spelling errors, and bad grammar are not cleaned up in previously released content. I tried starting a new-to-me game that was in like chapter twenty something, and in the first chapter I'm feeling like an underpaid high school english teacher. I didn't even make it to the token gratuitous first sex scene before I just stopped trying to get through it.

These are stories, if I'm tripping over landmines in your writing constantly and you're not gonna bother cleaning it up, I'm not gonna bother trying to read it.

If the dev does something to tank a game then it's not really a 'good' game anymore so it renders the question axiomatically moot. How a game concludes definitely factors in to how "good" a game is, if the game were "really good" and end poorly it loses that status and then you're more likely to drop it if it takes a direction you don't care for or introduces a mechanic that makes it tedious. If the game stays "really good" then there's very little reason to drop it. I suppose if the dev was a mass murderer or something and somehow didn't end up in prison and could still profit from the game in some way shape or form I'd not support the game at that point even if it was "really good".

Restart an unfinished game they were working and make us waiting again just to catch up to where they were at before.

1. Mutilate the storyline of the game/VN. Example - Reunion.
2. To absurdly increase the number of female characters, so that it becomes difficult to remember their names. Example: Love and Sex Second Base.

Add unavoidable NTR content.
