Well, it may sound strange but normally I use my middle name and either of my last names obviously in the language of the game and that's how I always play it.

Ooh I also use nick sometimes and if there's a last name option I always add gurr in there because I'm a child

very interesting. my middle name is my Uncle's i would not feel comfortable using it. At least unlike my older brother i don't have my fathers first name.

I realized that in games where you can choose your MC's name, I always use the same name, but it's *not* my name. I almost always call my character "Doug" for some reason and if I have to pick a last name I use "Douglas" so I guess in my mind there's this dude out there named Doug Douglas just laying pipe fucking EVERYWHERE.

What do you do?

Varies if I don't like the name I us a personal nickname, if I like the name I will just keep the defaults. I will also admit though that if I've replayed the game a bunch of times, I reach the point of just slamming enter to get through the beginning part of the game even if it defaults my name to player or something.

I change if I have a family member with that name, otherwise I will normally default or use the first 2 letters of my usual screen name, just because I'm too lazy to type the whole thing sometimes.

The first game I played had the default name be Max and that is now the name of everyone of my characters. His horny ghost now possesses all other protags. Maxwell Maxington if asked for first and last.

I usually change it if the default name is a lame one, I also change the names on the girls is I think they don't look like how the name fits

First VN I played was Dreams of Desire and I tried to use my own nickname, but it was too wierd, so I had to come up other name and been using it since. I don't change other names and I actually get annoyed, if I need to come up with name for girls, like in Dating my Daughter you need to. It just hard to come up with good one.
