Harems are pretty popular, but what is the right number of girls in a harem? Can it be too big? I think harems are too big when it feels like you have to choose between girls in the harem, or you only ever see a girl when you're having sex with her. I personally like WVM but I feel like it may be pushing that limit. How big is too big for you, and have you ever lost interest in a game because the harem got too big?

I think 5-7 is around my limit.

Games that go overboard with the harem (10+) become boring due to lack of character development, lack of focus on specific characters I like, or just fizzle out as there's just too much to do.

Completely agree. Too many characters makes character development very difficult to happen

As far as story goes? i'd say 4 or 5 is the limit.
As far as sex is concerned? The only limit is the max amount of characters that can fit.

Games with single digit harems are best
though there's something to be said for games like Apocalypic World when you start renaming the ones you take out of the basement and into the 'guest house' as Slot1, Slot2, Slot 3 lol

I'm modest: 3 daughters and a sister (or 4 daughters and no sister) is big enough harem for me. Which is one of the reasons I'm not a big fan of "23 sisters".

WVM is a good example of the harem getting too big and character development suffering as a result.

Harem games are silly when they go beyond single digit. Grandma's House, WVM are the most egregious. I tried 23 sisters a long time ago and havent gotten back into it.

I don't know what the max number is, but I think if you start losing track of the girls or become hard to meet the needs of every girls you have in harem especially with games that have points system then it probably is too big.

That's an interesting question. I love harem games and I love romance too, so I think around 6 or 7 would be perfect. This way there can be good development without anyone being left out.

In games? No limit. In my Crusader Kings 3 save file with mods, my main guy has over 700 children. Fucking his mom, aunt, cousins, sisters, daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, cucking neighbors wives, anyone with a vagina. Only downside is that they have to be at least 18 (- 2) years old
