Pretty sure sex combat games beg to differ. As would all games that actually have a good story that feature conflict that the player can resolve through combat.

You seem to really like bold universal statements that are really just a reflection of your personal taste. :ROFLMAO:
Sex combat?

Sex combat?
Games that have combat that features undress, sex, or rape mechanics. Or games that turn sex into a gameplay element where you have to pick actions to "defeat" your "opponent".

Yeah, that's not for me. Don't like rape content (unless it involves being raped by an attractive woman - a fantasy of mine since I was 9 or 10 YO.)

i dont want to ahve to grind, and i personally dont enjoy fighting or those rpg elements in my lewd games.

Yeah, any amount of grinding is always bad. Also, don't want difficulty.

Mainly, it's because of the awkward user interface. Of course, both in RenPy and Unity the UI can be terrible, but this first of all speaks about the developer's crooked hands. In RPGM, on the other hand, it's standard.
Finally, extremely primitive graphics when moving the character. This is a relic of the 80's and early 90's.

They tend to be slower-paced to play due to having to move physically from place to place and only being able to save before and after events which might force replaying a part of the game if something is missed or a scene wasn't expected to occur.

There have been a few examples of games like the ones by NLT or Claire's Quest that make it work but I feel that's more of a testament to their quality than rpgm as an engine.

i started out playing RPG games like Knights of Xentar. However, i kinda fell out of love of them after some became too grindy or had some really badly paced missions where your're forced to backtracked to the other side of the map, fighting random encounters just to progress the story.

I don't think people hate the RPGM itself they hate that so many games they tried with amazing concepts and potential got utterly decimated by the dev and that tends to happen EXTREMELY frequently when devs make games on RPGM.

I think generally the games just having boring game play so they're less exciting to play

I find that mass majority of RPGM games are shitty and shallow. From a game dev standpoint I also find the game engine, if you can call it one trash. It's outdated and too restrictive. One would much be better served with Godot ( ). On the other hand how many of you actually know about RPG Paper Maker?

Is this really their web??? Look at this abomination. A few icons, gray text over white background, more than 40% of the screen is just white. No good game engine can have a web like this.
I REST MY CASE

90% of all rpgm are just visual novels where you have to waste a lot of time walking.
Same problem with sandbox games.

Here is a simple test:
Would the game be any different as a visual novel?
If the answer is no then the gameplay is just uneccery bussiwork.

because it always involves a shitty grind and pointless running around.

I would say because RPGM usually means unnecessary steps.

They tend to be abandoned pretty quickly, usually boing or unoptimized, and the battles are time consuming and boring filler

We don't have anything against it it has something against running right and not crashing or bugging out.

I always find that I'm doing a lot more grinding than fapping, a ratio that I do not like says I.
