Which game engine do you prefer?

Ren'Py, to the point where I just filter away other engines. I've only ever played maybe one or two games total in other engines that was actually worth the time, out of trying several hundreds. I've just concluded it's not worth my time trying anything outside of Ren'Py.

Same. RPGM is just shit if they use the defaults (which nearly all do) and it seems to attract low effort/low skill devs. QSP could be decent but seems to always be fantasy and/or in a Russian setting (hate fantasy in adult games) and uses real porn rather than renders. Unity and UE just crash all the time.
 
Absolutely Ren'Py, if for no other reason then the ability to skip stuff easily is indispensable. Especially when trying out or replaying games. Some games do make better use of different engines, I have even seen good HTML games before. But generally speaking Ren'Py works best for VN types I believe.
 
I forgot HTML. It's also generally terrible. Playing in the browser sucks. And it almost always is low effort/skill real porn stuff.

Yes, but there are exceptions, try "Masters of Raana" for instance. Very far from low effort.
 
RenPy seems to be a good default, though it has it's limitations - and people seem to like to push those limits. I'm not generally opposed to other engines if they are done well.
However I generally don't seem to like RPGM games. I've liked a few, but the quality and gameplay doesn't generally appeal to me. I'll try it if the content seems quite interesting, but I am much more likely to drop them than other engines.
 
I usually find more interest in Unity games, sometimes even RPGM, depending on the assets
 
I play on my phone with joiplay so renpy works the best. Rpgm works also but the only games I've liked so far in that engine are from NLT Media
 
Ren'py for the most part, but Unity has a nice touch as well.
 
Ren'py is the best. Every unity game i have played ou have to download the entire game again every time it updates. No simple update patch to download.
 
On Android Renpy, on computer Unity.
 
Ren'Py. I like being able to roll back and choose different options to see different outcomes. I also prefer the way the save system works (Pretty much the same reason.
 
Renpy for vn, rpgm for roleplaying game usually.
 
RenPy - RPGM: These are the ones I play the most.
 
Renpy because it's so familiar and easy to use whether on pc or mobile
