Make a game that YOU would enjoy playing. Only include kinks YOU enjoy writing. Don't worry about building as big an audience as you can, just make a game you are passionate and enjoy working on. You will be less likely to burn out and more likely to build a more dedicated fanbase. A small collection of passionate fans is more profitable and encouraging than a massive horde of casual players.

And, if you're going to make a story-focused game, read a book or two on how to write fiction. Understanding pacing and story structure will give you the focus to actually develop a solid narrative plan so you don't end up with an unfocused, meandering story.

I would say it is time to lay RPGM to rest and never use it for game developing again
Here here! RPGM sucks the cum out of a dead man's dick. Nobody wants to spend hours wandering around a map with 1980s graphics in an adult game.
Another thing - work on one game at a time. Otherwise it distracts and takes longer for each - and lots of people may only be interested in one of them. It can also lead to abandoning one. Abandoning a game is a good way to reduce the number of patrons for any later games. Besides RPGM don't use HTML. Don't try to use real porn, either - it's too difficult to find enough where the characters look same.

The thing that bothers me the most is unnecessary feature creep. Sometimes the game starts out with a focus on 1-3 characters but then bloat the game by adding more and more characters and putting all the focus on that. Especially annoying when updates are few and far between and with each they put more focus on other things instead of the one that the game advertised itself.

Keep the grind to a reasonable minimum.

Have a good idea and make it happen. Don't extend and drag out content to chase money. Finish that original story and then if you have more to say, tell another story or make a sequel. There are some games that I'm tempted to play but I won't.

It's like someone deciding they want to watch one piece, bleach, or gintama and seeing that they're hundreds and hundreds of episodes and saying, "Nah. nvm. I'm good."

Fewer love interests, more content with them and diversify it. Both in the kinks that have and body size and shape.
This is just an example, but I'd love a game with a Futa, BBW, GILF, MILF and a Teen in it. Not every single character has to look 20, athletic, clean shaved and perfect boobs.

I feel like I've seen a lot of games fail when they've tried to accomplish too many things at once. Especially stuff like multiple playable protagonist or a storyline that's so different it might as well be a different game. As others in the thread has mentioned, being able to complete your project should be one of your main goals. A half finished mansion isn't worth as much as a completed smaller house imo.

1) Plot the whole game out while the idea is fresh and before you start development. You're less likely to suffer writer's block, burnout, etc., and more likely to complete it.
2) Grind is fine in moderation, but be mindful of the grind to payoff ratio. Some grind keeps players interested, but too much without worthwhile payoff is a game breaker.
3) Learn how to animate H scenes in a realistic way, especially POV. Mix it up.
4) Original music tracks (varied but repetitive) run through the player's mind even when not playing your game. Helps to encourage repeated play and continued interest.

i would say:
  1. make sure you have an achievable goal, and a highly detailed plan to go with it.
  2. provide a clear roadmap for your users/customers/investors/fan base
  3. communicate (nicely) and as often as possible
  4. get someone else to proofread and pick up your errors - we are often blind to our own faults
  5. constructive criticism CAN help you improve, so try not to take it too personal
  6. while taking point 5 into consideration, try and stay as true to your goal/vision as much as possible
  7. good luck, have fun.

Don't bother with music - vast majority of players mute it.

First and foremost, do the type of content that you like and know of. Don't take a dip at fetishes that you don't understand or enjoy.
And try to make a serious and calculated guess about the scope you can and are willing to handle. Regardless if you're doing it for the fun of it or trying to earn some money.

1. Don't blueball. Don't go more than 3 releases without actual sex (this does NOT include handjob - please, don't even include handjob, most of us rapidly click to get past it - blowjob, titjob, footjob [ieewww!], etc.)
2. Don't include NTR, futa/trap, monstergirl or anything extremely off (like scat)
3. Modern, realistic setting - no fantasy or sci fi
4. Realistic looking - NO CARTOONS! Yes, Manga, Anime or whatever the fuck else that shit is called is included as cartoons.
Don't listen to that kind of BS.☝️

Yes, do and it's not BS. Those thing suck ass. Cartoons are for children and it would be weird to be turned on by a cartoon character.
