It depends on the game. Is it a sandbox style game with RPG elements that can be played multiple times? I'd rather have shorter updates.

If it's a standard story-based VN then I want longer updates with more content.

Where is the released fineshed option?
What too 2000 to release a fineshed game?
Yes i am talking about games in general.

Fast updates even if it's less content as it also ensures me that developers are actually working on the updates and not constantly delaying them for supposedly not being able to finish

I like normal updates more because there is enough content for me to enjoy :)

Normal update if it takes too long i forgot half the story

Fast Update. If that is generally not enough content to satisfy me, I will wait for a x number of updates to play the game.

Slow update with plenty of content but realistically I prefer consistent updates on a schedule so you know roughly when to expect it takes away some of the threat of another game being abandoned.

Normal, but I don't mind waiting a little longer if i really like a game

Shorter updates with less content. The longer the time between two updates, the more likely it is for the dev to vanish.

A well documented one so I can see if it's worth downloading a smaller update or if I should wait for a few more
I could not agree more.

I dislike seeing updates being released without any kind of changelog, or one that does not tell you much about the content that was added/changed/removed. For instance, what good is waiting 4 months for an update if it was just a script fix for a route you do not even (want to) play?

More content is always better. I don't give two shits about Pong being updated if it means less friction on the paddle in one part of the upper Y axis.

Regardless of whether it is fast or slow, the main thing is regular and reliable and with content appropriate to the time period

Went with the middle ground.

In reality I don't mind a wait with a decent amount. What I don't like though is 6month+ wait between updates and then being dissapointed in the quantity.

Normal update with a normal amount of content proportional with the wait.
Also I really like it when the dev update it with a fixed time interval between update or just openly tell the player when they're gonna update it.

my favorite creator update 4month in a roll, although mainly fixing bugs in the latest few update.
