Well games that use HS2 and DAZ use the same or very similar models, unless the dev puts more effort into model shaping. But DAZ is usually the better looking if its rendered right.

If done correctly, I don't mind HS or HS2.

However, I absolutely hate Koikatsu.
I don't know what it is, but I can't stand those models and have refused to play games with them.

HS2 is perfectly fine. I see too many HS games with models that actually shine and look like they've been dipped in clear oil.

They can both be decent and done right depending on the game and developer. Though Honey Select is the better option.

Koikatsu is shit, not sure of Honey Select. If it looks like a cartoon I'm not even slightly interested. Getting off on a cartoon character seems weird to me.

Getting off to horribly done DAZ models that remind you of blow up dolls or other nightmare fuel seems worse.

Not to me, but any unrealistic looking I dislike.

I think it's more effort to get HS models to look unique and good since the defaults are absolutely misproportioned messes. HS models seem to be adjusted by scaling the width and length of entire body parts, which is why knees and ankles also look oddly wide when they try make a characters thighs and hips wide. Same thing with arms, which just looks comically wrong and not all appealing in my eyes.
But there are good examples for some games that went through the effort of customizing their characters properly and uniquely. Harem Hotel, Mythic Manor, LGH, are well enough made that I can enjoy a lot of those characters' looks.

Koikatsu on the other hand I've never found good looking. It's just an inferior style imo.

And nothing beats realistic, well made and properly shaded Daz renders

Hand drawn are usually terrible, too.

As with everything, it depends on the developer, a talented developer can do great work

Not with Koikatsu. It's way too cartoony.

I can play game containing them but I do overall prefer Daz, some 2D games can look really great aswell.

Most game creators kinda suck at taking the photo's but there have been a few that I've liked.

I like both models and sometimes I want to play a nice Koikatsu game but hard to find one that interests me

Honestly, I avoid them. I have the feeling that when you played one of these games, you have seen everything others can offer.

my opinion is that Daz seems to look more appealing when using a good model and proper rendering.
having played a fair bit of HS1 and HS2, these are at least decent with more anime/eastern style art and aesthetics. HS1 was pretty bad at trying to emulate more western style models, but HS2 improved upon that.
i don't really have anything to comment about Koikatsu, having zero experience with it.

in either case, it really comes down to how skilled the artist is in creating a good character model with the tools available to them.

Koikatsu is shit. WAY too cartoonish.
