What is you opinion on games that use models from "Honey Select" or "Koikatsu"?

I don't mind them, they're not my go to picks, but the story and kinks have to carry the game, simply going by either of those renders is usually a pass.

I say story trumps all

i think as long the game is good i can overlook it, if i had to choose, i'd rather have Daz and HS2 would be second, HS2 also has tons of mods that can make it look even better and not too high demand for making a vn.

I absolutely love Honey Select, even more than DAZ. Koikatsu isn't my favorite, but I like it sometimes. I feel like it only works in specific games

I honestly like to mix it up. Sometimes I'm in a honey select move. Sometimes Daz. And sometimes I go full weeb with Koikatsu.

Depends on the devs. You can make cute girls and ugly waste with both and even with daz.
I prefer cute girls, no matter how they were made. Sure, some assets get recycled until you dont want to see them anymore, but considering how many identical backgorunds are in many different games...lets just say, i prefer if the girls are unique...and the not every bedroom looks like the one from game x, y and z. But in general, there are much worse options.
