How quickly do you want to get to the sex scenes, what would the ideal relationship look like from the romance options, do you want the characters to be obsessed with you like in most games or something more realistic?

I don't think it's correct to call a pace the right one.

Every game depending on its context needs a pace that fits and a story that supports what happens and how the characters feel about the MC, for example a short game that focuses more on porn needs to go fast or players will get bored, but story-focused games can slow down the pace because the goal is not just the porn, it's what leads you to it (Like the joke about the treasure chest "The real treasure is the friends we made along the way"), the so-called "Slow burn"
There are games that are a middle ground, where the story is not so deep but it has a weight in the events and the "spicy" scenes don't take so long to come, I think the latter is one of the most popular because it's the one that most people can get to.

Also included are games where not only the story matters, but also the mechanics of the game, like sandbox and RPG.

It depends on the story and more the pacing of the story. I guess I slightly prefer realism, but not if the game is basically 90% a visual novel.

Neither too fast nor too slow, it has to do with the story they create, the characters also depend on what the game is about, but well, I like the corruption in that part. I already want to see her submissive in lingerie.

Personally it gets a little annoying when a bunch of characters are madly in love with the main character for no comprehensible reason. And it usually means the dev didn't actually write a main character, just a blank slate to throw sex at.

So yeah, I like there to be at least some semblance of gradual development to the relationship. Doesn't have to take forever but the game should at minimum show why these characters are attracted to each other and how that attraction progresses to sex.

I don't know how to measure it, but getting to sex in few interactions is just as bad as grinding event for 2h just to unlock some groping.

I usually prefer a slow approach. To me, one of the most important things is that they give each "step" of the corruption some time to sink in. For example, if there's an event where the girl is forced into doing something new, it should have enough time for her to process it before we move on straight to the next thing.

I like to take my time, that is, if the game has a pretty good story and the sex comes slowly but magnificently, those are the games that satisfy me the most... That said there are games who think boring and repetitive mechanics to reach the sex scenes is good gameplay, I specifically remember this game about you living with your little sister since your mom is on vacation, you have to talk to her and get her interests, the catch is that her interests fucking change all the time and if you choose the wrong topic to talk to then you lose a fucking lot of progress which makes you save scum every fucking sentence, oh you like cats?? Well now it's math.... Atrocious

if is not rushed it's ok for me, also corruption needs to have a point and characters should be reluctant to do some things

I would have to say its not the pace but the story. If the story is good than the sex can come later, as long as its not an extreme

As others have said, not too fast and not too slow. If it makes sense, then I'm OK with whatever. The only thing that turns me off to a game is when I feel it's just porn for porn sake and there is no pretense in developing a plot. SSP has a sex scene super fast, but did really well in keeping the temptation constant through most of the game.

depends on the game

It really depends on how the corruption is handled in the story. In some games, it’s way more intense than in others, and for me, part of the fun is seeing just how far a character can fall. But at the same time, I think there should be a balance—mixing romance with corruption can make the story way more engaging. It’s not just about how explicit or dark it gets, but how well everything is written and justified within the plot. If the progression feels natural and the characters are developed properly, then that’s what really makes it interesting for me.

I like a game that knows what it's best at. Some games are wall to wall H-scenes, and those can really work, but if a game has a good writer, then a slow burn can be really good.

I realize the games aren't realistic, but all the best if it does a good job parroting real life to where I never notice.

I prefer slow and steady pace, let the plot build up for the results of the corruption.
But I'm also fine with fast paced one, where the mc just r**e the soon gonna be sex slave over and over again non stop until they're completely corrupted

I enjoy a slow burn and more realistic progression with the main LIs. Some teasing along the way (i.e. peeping) helps. Access to porn or promiscuous side characters to help the MC be patient (and give the player early-game payoff) is welcome.
