To be honest, Frank Darabont's The Green Mile (1999) really blew me away; I grew to truly admire the acting talent of Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan. That was, until I found out that Michael Clarke Duncan was an homosexual in real life and, according to rumors on content creation platforms back before they started getting censored around 2019, that Tom Hanks might be a trans woman, but that's a whole other story. I also really enjoyed Doug Hutchison's performance as the sadistic guard. I know the film is based on a Stephen King book, but I've never actually read any of his work in that vein; he's written so much in that genre that I wouldn't even know where to start

Can't force myself to chose only one. There are a lot of movies that falls into the "must watch" category.
I can give you a couple of names like:

Interstellar: one of the best sci-fi movie you can find. Humans are at risk and so an astronaut is being chosen to be the captain of the "Endurance" and his crew made by scientist they have to find a new planet to colonize in a new galaxy.

Frankenstein Junior: a cult when it comes to comedy movies. It's old and in black and white. Still, one of the best.

The godfather: I don't think there is anything much i can say about this movie that you don't know. Just... Watch it if you didn't already.
