also when every LI is immediately horny for the MC. at least make me work a little bit

this is a very valuable thread for those who delving into making a VN, especially since i see i have done many of these things here already

my personal dislike is bad writing, grammar mistakes and such i can overlook..... up to a point. but a magical transition from a character just hating the main character and then wanting to have sex is very jarring! a lot of japanese incest games tend to make out in their game descriptions that you will have to "persuade" your sister or other relative to like you, build a relationship, mend old wounds, blah blah before getting to the good stuff..... then in scene two you're waking up poking their cervix

so no character development, or not earned character development may be a better way to put it

Honestly, poor/stilted writing. This accounts for typos, basic grammatical mistakes, bad punctuation, but also just... bland prose. It can really kill a game's vibe.

Some of the things that seem to annoy people I often like. I love a game poorly translated into English for example. I also quite like it when a developer obviously doesn't know where the story is going (in my opinion at least 85% of devs seem to have not sketched an overarching story before they started and the ridiculous meandering is part of the fun). What annoys me more than anything is characters acting out of character. What are we paying for if not to keep in character? I recently played Pill King where the MC refuses to fuck someone (depending on patches) in the shower even though he has fucked her before, has made it clear he wants to fuck everyone and is standing there with an erection. I also don't like it when the MC pushes his 14 inch cock into a 7 inch throat. Let me tell you that thing is not bending sufficiently to pass over the epiglottis and down the pharynx.

Engrish: If you want to make a game in English and don't speak it, find someone who can and is willing to proof read your work.

Every girl wants to immediately fuck the MC: No one is in a rush here. Build up to it and make the player work for it (at least a little bit!).

MC with an unrealistic dick: Most guys don't have a dick that looks like a baby's arm holding an apple, and if he does, shoving it in his 16 year old sister's various orifices is going to be incredibly painful and non-sexy.

Stories with a huge casts: The MC doesn't need 15 different LIs to keep the story interesting. It also leads to unrealistic performance; no one is fucking 5 different girls everyday for the next two weeks...

Dialogue that is utterly nonsensical and not at all reflective of how people talk in normal conversation. I'm sure this is often a translation issue, but this is so noticeable when exposition is shoehorned into dialogue.

I always make saves when I have choice it's just when a choice leads to different choices and so on and so on to the point where you could easily miss something. I just download a gallery unlocker to see all the scene then abandon the game.

There are a few things that annoys me.

Posing with hands behind the head or back is very unnatural and devs should do away with it.

When taken a girls virginity there is no blood.

Not allowing pregnancy, especially in incest games.

Forcing anal sex on the player, all sex should be up to the player.
