Generally find 2d more appealing, 3d if its a VN... Open sandbox type 3d games i dont really get...

I like both if made with love, passion and skill.

If the artstyle and animation is really good then 2d is superior in basically every way, cause when you really think about most low-effort scenes in 3d games its basically just models rubbing, with 2d you can be more detailed and make it feel more real and less janky

It depends. I think 3DCG is more consistently enjoyable, but some of the 2D ones are top tier.

For games I prefer 3D, 2D can be very good, but it costs much more to produce them and that extra work is usually noticeable in the developer's performance. So I guess I prefer 3D for a practical reason.

Why Not Both Take Both GIF - Why Not Both Why Not Take Both GIFs

My thoughts exactly - good creators is more important.

usually 2dcg is more good in quality or easy to make? but if I see 3d with good realism body, face, light, hair, shadows I would not refuse to see it but the good 3d is more rare to see this days in games it take more time to do it right.

ive only played 3d VNs, is there an SSP equiv for 2d? ie. one/more that are considered goat status

I like both when they are well done, but on the opposite end I think bad 2d looks much better than bad 3d.

I like both, but I prefer 3D, although I think it all depends on the story you want to tell, some sfi-ci or fantasy elements work better in 2d than 3d

Personally I prefer 3D, there are impressive animations in 3D, although artistically 2D can be really beautiful

Really like 2D animations of parody anime games
That aside, 3D

It depends on the artist. I've seen so many great ones from both side so can't really compare.
