If I miss content with the cute LI due to some obscure decision I made 3 chapters ago it ruins the fun. I also like gallery unlockers, because I probably won't go back and play a game like a total douche just to bang the hot alt chick.
I usually don't use it on my first run through in a game. I usually make the choices based on what I would want (vs the few games were the MC is nothing like me and my choices would not be w/in character for that MC.) After that I'll follow an in game one that probably leads to content I missed. If a sandbox game has really bad clues/directions, and there is a mod available, I'll probably load that in, if I like the story.
Giving an LI an apple insted of an orange in chapter 2 makes her not like you in chapter 5 is the shit why I hate games without walkthroughs or at least hints.
Or mostly games that have stupid dialog options that affect scenes.
Yeah, I like walkthrough included in games. Makes it easier to plan out paths, cause I'm not playing the game with pen and paper to keep track of everything.
I play games for the content and story, not a fan of having to figure out how to get the content and story through pointless wondering and trial and error.
I much prefer to play games blind, but it depends on if a game has a best ending. I don't want to play through an entire game, only to get the "oops you suck and everybody died" ending because I didn't follow some secret convoluted process.
