Thats nice, but i dont want to port to win11 yet, i dont know it doesnt convince me haha
What, you don't find it convenient to have an OS that comes with its own built-in auto-enabled key-logger, justified as "helping you" with a personalized auto-correct feature to "increase efficiency" of your typing? Microsoft is so full of s*** it's more spyware than OS at this point, but what are the truly convenient alternatives for non-techies?... Dystopic times :D

Yeah absolutely. Microsoft has basically a monopoly when it comes to general consumer pcs. Mac is inconvenient and apple in general is absurdly overpriced, overrated, incompatible to anything and has a fandom that looks like a sect to me. Linux... if you're not into coding you won't find convenience there.

Actually for most people Linux is a perfectly fine option now a days. If you take a distro like Ubuntu it's perfect for simple games, browsing and email.

Thanks to Steam, you can play not only simple games, but the absolute majority of any. For example, yesterday I played Ghost of Tsushima, which was just released on PC, and everything is great.

I like using a VM for playing adult games because it helps keeping things neatly separate. If I ever want to play them, I have to spin up the VM and if don't they're just neatly tucked away.

That's really good to know. I'll check up on some comparisons between winspy 11 and ubuntu to see how well it might be suited for me. Thanks for pointing my attention to that. Been a long time since I really even considered it.

Thats absolutly right, they are like a sect, i tried Ubuntu a few years ago bc is the more close to Windows but now i dont know how compatible/incompatible is with the vast programs that i use.

Yeah, I knew some apple-fanboys that were obsessed with everything they shat out.

Apparently Ubuntu is far enough to make gaming conveniently accessible via steam, so that's at least something. How was your experience in general with Ubuntu? I'm doing a fair amount of AI stuff, which shouldn't be a problem I don't think, but all sorts of streamlined software I would expect to be just a little more likely to have some issue that's going to be a pain to solve due to some incompatibilities I wouldn't have even ever heard of, as I was basically born and raised with Windows.

From what i can remember it was a good experience overall but i was not playing any game just messing around and it was like many years ago hahaha but it was good, dont know if enough to port all my things to Ubuntu....

I've done this for years. Vmware player + an old Windows 7 which I still have a valid license (no need to have anything newer as I disabled the virtual cards on vmware settings so the Win image runs isolated).

I see, but you could handle it without issues by the sound of it and it's supposed to be even more user friendly and accessible now. Do you have any background in coding?

I had it installed in a friend old laptop to only do the basic things with no problem. Ill be lying if i had to say yes, im still learning the basic things.

I am using Hyper-V and its really convenient and easy but performance wise some games are just unplayable usually those made with Unity or UE.

If you are are running Hyper-V or another VM how are you playing the more hardware heavy games? Any tips?

A VM is a completely unnecessary waste of time and hardware resources.

Just running off a separate drive. I know, it writes to the registry and saves user files, but I'm only obscuring from casual other users on the computer, not worried about the FBI. Wouldn't touch that kinda stuff, and wouldn't be posting on a forum if I did.

Just rawdogging it on an older box I use just for this stuff. I used to use a VM but gave up because it was a PITA trying to play my lewd games.

It is easy just search on yt and follow the steps, but you do need to have Windows 10 (or 11) Enterprise, Pro, or Education editions. Its not available on home.
