Unpopular opinion: If I have to play through 60min of your game to even get a hint of sexual content the game is trash

Do you prefer a slow build-up, or do you agree that games should kick things off faster?

True, i just downloaded 100% save file and didn't give a damn about the plot or story.

If it takes more than 2 or 3 minutes to skip all dialogues to see nudes, it's a no no. I came here for the lewds, not to read Dostoevsky
@fthegovernment we're talking about hentai porn games, what kinda "sexual" thing do you mean? Of course it has to have nudes and sex scenes duh

I played many 3d, third person "open world" games, those got many content from the beginning, sadly other games with different genre don't have such intensive progression

I guess we are talking about AVNs/Porn Games, so... I generally prefer a good story with good writing, that can include a slow build up, especially if the story needs the MC to be a virgin/sexuall unexperienced. It shouldn't take too long tho, ina pinch a Dev can do dream-scenes or stuff like that. If it is well written I don't mind an hour, tho that should be the point where it really should get to the first proper scene.

I don't like slow burn/build up where I have to sit through more than a dozen teasing scenes before getting to the more interesting scenes (teasing scenes can also be pretty interesting at times though). Interestingly, I don't really have a problem with delaying content when it's preceded by a well-written story. Might be because I usually abuse the skip button, so any game that manages to get me curious about what' happening and further draw me into the story is worth reading in my book.

I think a few people summed this up very well. If you want a quick fap, go to a porn site. I'm looking for an experience... A game that can slowly build up the sexual tension and keep you hooked is exponentially more interesting to me than quick gratification. The issue with the slow burn games is that most in the adult genre are simply not that interesting and struggle to hook due to poor writing and unoriginality.

Depends as I enjoy both type of VN games. Sometimes I want it quick and dirty to get off, and other times a slow build works.

I've played quite a few games that are basically visual novels with minimal porn that made me feel emotions, and were 10 times better.

Plenty of us want a GAME but don't want to get blueballed. Slow burn sucks the cum out of a dead man's dick. I hate kinetic novels because they aren't actually interactive like a game should be.

I actually like a slow build, but there needs to be at least a bit of a payoff, e.g. maybe daydreaming, or hints towards what can eventually happen.

I need some build up, the time to find characters somewhat relatable but 1 hour before any H content seems crazy. At the very least I'd expect to start being able to influence things a long time before that.

I find that slow build up often means:
Meaningless grind.

So while i would like a game that has porn in it instead of a porn with gameplay elements.
I find that the amount of games that can have good gameplay and good porn to be very few.

To fast and i ask myself: Why am i not just watching porn.
To slow and i am asking myself: Why am i wasting my time.

Pacing is a problem not only porn games have.
Many movies, stories, and games struggle from what i like to call:
Spending 500 words where 5 would have been enought.
I need a shorter version i admit.

A good example: We eat breakfast vs We eat breakfast, i had a toast, my sister had penute butter on bread and my mother eath sauges in a very sexy way.
All of this is on screen by the way.

Now multiply this through a 6 hour game and ask yourself: If they didnt waste my time explaining unimportant things how much shorter would it been.
Useally 5 min story.

Japanese games are especialy prone to this.
Where they spend 3 hours talking about something that could have been told in 5 min.
To be fair that is probley japanese culture.
Obsessive politeness and all that crap.
Kinda hard to stick to facts when the fear of sounding offince is bombed into your mind from birth.

Short version:
The line between grind and gameplay is razor thin.

a build up is nice but yea an hour is wayyyy too long to wait

For me it depends on what the game aims to be and how it presents itself. If it's upfront about being a more slowburn story focused game and the lewd content is more of a cherry on top, I'm cool with it. On the other hand if a game presents itself to be a fuck fest and it takes ages for lewd content it makes me question if the dev even knows what they're trying to do

It's really hard to get the players hooked with a good writing. It's an audacious thing to do. If the dev is a good writer, it's possible, but blue balling without good reason is just trash. Just as giving every scene "for free" is also trash. I guess it's more about if the writing is good or bad than if the scenes are right away or a slow burn

I think if a game is good, in story or gameplay, then it's fine if it takes a while to get to the sex. The issue is porn games aren't good. The vast majority, like >99% of porn games do not have good gameplay and their writing is typically also not actually worth reading on their own. The only actual value pretty much all porn games have is the porn, so if that's not coming thick and fast, the game is bad. If I'm spending an hour or more playing though a bad game to get to porn that's just not good or fun.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good story and world-building, but when a game spends hours on tutorials, exposition, or slow setups, it can be frustrating.
agree, not just for porn game but all games in general. that's why i hate persona 5 in particular.

I like a bit of a slow burn. If you just want them to whip it out in the first scene then there are video websites for that 5mins of content.
