Did they ever tweak the opening? I remember having to pay the asshole landlord ever increasing amounts of money. It killed any joy of progression that I felt. I eventually gave up. Some people claim that they just mace him and attack him, but he's way too strong for me.

I would say this is not the opening but the main game story. I am not aware of a good way to avoid paying Bailey but there are enough opportunities to make money that it becomes inconsequential mid to late game but it can be challenging at the start.

I usually avoid text based games, but DoL is the exception. It really allows the player to experience the story however he/she wants to.

Playing this for a year or so (stopped and resumed every once in a while). Best html game I've played with so much freedom. Couldn't ask for more except, I want the MC to be on the raping side than being raped, especially when the MC becomes an Incubus, it's just so wrong to be raped in the ass as an incubus xD

What are your strategies to earn enough money? You will need up to 4000 per week. I use to go for dancing (club/brothel/studio), which is of course more prostitution^^.

But you can also steal, rob, look for treasures, look for VIPs, model, farm.... etc.

I hear what you're saying, and frankly part of me wishes for the same thing. However, the Devs have been pretty clear that the entire premise of the game is to survive in an ever-increasingly hostile environment. Though I'm not certain, I think any mod to switch the role of the MC and make them the aggressor would change the game, so fundamentally, you would basically have an entirely different game.

That being said, check out DOL+ by Frostberg on DOLmods.net. You can set up the combat system to allow reverse rape, where once you defeat all the assailants, you can continue the encounter for as long as you want, but with you in charge. Not a perfect solution, but probably as close as you will find while staying with DOL.

If you haven't played it in a while, you should check out DOL+. Frostberg released it only 7 months ago, and it now has the vast majority of traffic on DOLmods.net, even more than the base game. It also has integrated support for the various art mods that you can select from a drop-down menu while mid-game.

Check out the Dol Plus mod. It overhauls combat and allows you to rape them when you win I'm pretty sure. Another game to try is Liliths Throne. That game is similar to DoL except if you win the combat you can rape them or force them to do things or even capture them as slaves.

I've played this game all over the world and I still do from time to time, it's a similar feeling to Lilith throne, I always go back and forth to DOL and the game keeps getting constant updates and with good quality, the game is very good, although I need to check the wiki every now and then for something, anyway, I highly recommend it, Robin is the best character
