I like to earn it. If I just wanted to see sex scenes, then I wouldn't be playing a game in the first place.

I prefer to earn gallery to see where the extend of the game come. Option to unlock if I played it like 5-20 times already and cannot see or encounter some gallery images\scenes.
Unlocked is like for "just to fap". But sometimes it's not.
It would be good to have 3 options: to have locked\unlocked gallery and to restore gallery to the state when you locked or unlocked it depending on your gameplay. Depending on "you wanna fresh start?", "you want just to fap this time?" or "you want to try to get it with your gameplay?".

Depends on the game, if its game with good gameplay, then i like it locked so i can find anything. If its just a VN with a lot of routes, i usually like it unlocked, as i dont want to play it multiple times just to find everything.

I try to do enough research into a game to know im not wasting my time so ill do one play through without an unlock first.
Although ill use a walkthrough mod especially if the game includes Netorare which i really dont like. Netori is fine as is Netorase depending on the story.

After the first playthrough ill use an unlocker to see the different endings and scenes.

Since im very new to ANVs, i've only just into them in the last week, i plan on going through the AVNs i've played through once, again, to try out other endings, but not until i've played more different AVNs.

I HAVE to earn it, because if I can unlock it from the beginning I do, and then I look through all the scenes and go "welp, no point to play the game now since I've already seen all of the porn!" like a fool. That said though I do appreciate when you have the unlock gallery button after you finish the game, especially if it's one where you can't see every scene in a single playthrough because I usually only play through a game a single time.

Do you prefer to have to earn the gallery or do you want it all available to you right off the bat, and why?
I personally prefer to be able to access it all right away, I don't think it detracts much from the accomplishment of earning it.

I'd like to have an option to unlock the gallery and use it only if I get really stuck or the game gets too grindy!

It is okay to have it unlocked from the go in case someone is bored to unlock the sex scenes in the game.

I prefer to earn the gallery during the playthrough. But when the game is rounded, I don't want to play the game once more to unlock the missing gallery scenes or pics. Then I want the opportunity to see what I missed.

but have a cheat code or something so you can see what you missed

100 earning it by playing the game, after I'm done with it, I'm gonna replay the game to 100% the gallery.
But if the gameplay were boring af, then i just use the gallery mod after I finished the game for the first time.

In my opinion, opening a gallery using mods is not the best choice if gameplay is important to you. The gallery is already spoilers that kill the incentive to play. Well, I looked at pictures or videos. And then what? The answer is obvious - the game can be sent to the trash.
