The western games are better or worse than the eastern games?

It's a question I have in my mind, with so many things happening in the industry (especially AAA) Western games seem to have lost their shine.
Yeah western games have been declining on quality these past few years, but it doesn't mean that there haven't been any good games or that eastern games haven't gotten worse either.

I vastly prefer western games and art to eastern. The eastern market is hugely over saturated, and suffers from commonality. The western art scene atleast has more variety/original art in comparison to a lot of eastern art. This is mostly my opinion. I could be wrong, but from my experience, eastern art=censorship and same style. Western art=originsl desgin, little to no censorship.

Japanese loli games are better in most ways, but they are also very cookie cutter IMO. Most are just derivations of the same archetypal games. And to play many of then you'll need to download the Japanese language pack. That being said, I don't miss the opportunity to play them if they have been translated and uncensored. Otherwise, Western games are more accessible and of course, understandable.

As for myself Western games are more to my liking as far as content I can pretend to relate too. But from what I see is that the Eastern games are really where the whole formula came from and will probably always be the ground breaker's in the industry. I've played some good West games but the Eastern ones tend to push the graphics a lot more. But I'm truly no expert.

I didn't play that much games, but asian game developers work for real studios and so have a bit more money, with games pushed a bit further in 3d etc. It's rare to see other things than visual novels in the west (and that's a shame). However despite what I said, it's still niche and 3d porn games lack visual appeal (I don't like the anime style for 3D, it's much better in 2D in my opinion)

I think it's all about what you like but western companies have lost there way for sometime and its irritating me personally I haven't really given many Japanese games a fair shake so I'm kinda biased

Different stokes for different folks (pun intended) but i do agree with people saying western companies are a bit better

anyone else play anything they like the art style of, i dont know why but i really like hand drawn

In every of them you can find hidden gems and totally bullshit. Even if there is cencorship in eastern games you can find some good stuff in them, but also there is a lot of NTR or simply shitty games. In western games there is a lot with not so good models or made "just for test" and abandoned them, but there is really high quality gams with juicy 3D models, with creative plot (not just step-mom, son, step-sister plot)

I'd say the current state of western VN's is better than what the east is offering right now. So many of the goated Japanese studios from back in the day are gone or have slowed down to only releasing a game every few years, most being remasters. The indie eastern scene is pretty healthy and has some great games, but finding them is harder than it use to be and if you don't like RPGMaker your options are really limited.

Western scene is in a pretty strong place (outside of credit card companies and politicians trying to de-platform it) It's over-saturated with mid tier games, but the high quality ones are insanely good and a handful of those are popping up every year.

With that said, the peak of VNs were Japanese ones in the 00's. Even the best western ones don't even come close to that era.

Western are better

(On a more constructive note, I feel that most Eastern games are harder to get to grips with, which means that even if cool, original games that I might be interested in appear on both sides, I'll tend to play more Western games because they're so much more accessible.)

For still images I really prefer hentai but for games 3D just works better. Also I very much dislike censoring and some of the other stuff japanese porn games generally do.

I find Western games to be more consistent in terms of rendering quality.
Eastern games, I find, are much more random; there are some very good ones, but also some awful ones.

i find interesting that some comment earlier mention that video games went "woke" (whatever that thing mean lately, the definition seem to change every few days) and claim it is the problem, while ignoring that the "woke" stuff always existed since story telling importance increased, so basically for the past 30 years
Like, Dragon Age Origins (2009) have us see racism, impact of war, discrimination, morale choice, and similar from really close
Final Fantasy 7 (1997) is basically the story of a eco terrorist group fighting an evil mega corporation
The core message of the Fallout serie (started in 1997) is that Capitalism and Corporate Greed will doom the world
Suikoden (serie started in 1995) is about multiple races gathering to fight a common evil
and i could pick almost any popular game with a minimum of stories and find similar stuff, you need to go to Mario level of stories where it is just "princess was kidnapped, go save her" to avoid anything "woke"
and from both Western and Eastern games
So i'll never understand the whole "games are bad because they are woke" mentality when video game in general always have been that way, it sound like trying to find fault in something just to rage, it must be tiring mentally
The thing that changed compared to even 10 years ago is just that the video game industry as a whole went crazy with the money making schemes, it started with DLC (lot of time being content ready but cut before release to sell later), and it only went worst after games like Fornite or Overwatch exploded in popularity and made a ton of money and even more keep printing money in the long term, which mean every big companies want their own "Fortnite level money maker", without understanding that making a cheap copy will never made the cut in a market that is saturated, and saturated market mean it is going to get hard to steal market shares from games on the market for years already (since people are heavily invested into it)
Basically, Ultra-Capitalism is what is ruining the video game industry, not "woke stuff"
and what is true for video games is also true for comics, movies and other media you can think of

Seems like it but not sure what actually happened in the gaming industry that causes these transition. Especially RPG genre got hit hard the most like the latest Dragon Age game so looking forward for its release and then end up a total disappointment like a roller coaster

It's kind of disingenuous to try and imply "it's always been like this" when you can see at a glance that there's a clear difference with how preachy games have gotten and how hackneyed the writing has become of late.
Also, all the examples you stated use those concepts as dressing to establish a living world at best or are objectively wrong at worst, they're not the core plot in and of themselves.

FF7 is about a band of plucky heroes coming together to save the world from being destroyed, the "ecoterrorist" angle is done and gone before the end of Disc 1. Barret even says he was just using it as an excuse to lash out at the world in his anger, and Shinra end up partially redeeming themselves by helping to destroy one of the Weapons by the end of the game.
The core message of Fallout is "war never changes", it's literally the first and last lines in the game's script. Corporate greed has nothing to do with it, the world was ended by nuclear war between the US and China/Russia, and capitalism is still alive and strong throughout the game's settings since you still have trading hubs and merchants everywhere. The main threat in Fallout 1 is an army of super-mutants, and in F2 it's the remnants of the US government.
Suikoden is about gathering an army from all walks of life to stop an evil empire, and is a direct adaptation of The Water Margin. Getting people to put aside their differences is often a key part of the story, but it's not the core tenet of the story (usually that's got something to do with the will of the True Runes or some shit) and the tales from the various games are often more personal and varied than what can just be distilled to a simple premise.
