Images were generated with AI tools instead of a typical rendering application.
The update is great so far. I started back at the beginning, and I'm glad I did. A bunch of stuff was added or polished early game. I've barely even gotten into the new material. I really don't want to rush through anything.

I'm a bit sad, because I like the ideas in this game, I even like the fact that they try to push AI vids even tho the technology isn't good enough like in 90's movies, but with each upgrade it stays super sloppy.
I don't think anymore that there are real efforts to do proper pics. I mean : WHAT IS THIS ?! It's not even in a video !

Do you have a bird? Siz is ze pinnacle of high end german bionic micro drone engineering. You sink it is a wasp? No it is Bloch Industries newest micro drone. Ze Germans have found solutions beyond symmetry!

To be serious: I find they look a little odd, but kind of acceptable. Getting the text right AND creating a good looking composition of different drones is challenging to even the most capable open source models. That one propeller is stretching it. Propellers are to drones what fingers are to people made with AI. It is what it is. Nobody promised perfection. What would you say wasp-size bionic micro drones shooting toxic ice needles should look like in general?

@ZDaGoat Would you mind telling us what model and/or setup your using to generate the animations?
The TV Animations are so good!
Would love to fiddle with AI Anims muyself a bit!

Wan 2.2 and LTX 2.3. Both are very good, if you have enough VRAM to also use the necessary Loras.

LTX 2.3 is also able to create Sounds and speech and it keeps the style of the input image quite good. WAN 2.2 is overall the more versatile model, a bit more intelligent and prompt-adherent. But both are good.

It's true that the TV animations are probably the best ones so far, probably because they're small and then way easier to make while story animations are sometimes super blurry because it's full-screen.

Imo, it's even more frustrating to see that the TV animations are better than the game animations. :(

This said, i definitely don't have enough VRAM to do anything close to what this game provide (or maybe i do but it would take hours just for a single one, and it may still be sloppy at the end). That's also why i was so hyped when i played it for the first time.

I've done AI animations before i started developing the game, and it was really hard to get out anything usable in the beginnings. Some of the first animations are due for an overhaul.

I have no experience and have no idea what I'm talking about, but anything made with AI sounds like you need to train it first for a while for it to actually start doing what you want, no matter how good the model is. Especially local AI (which you probably need to use, this game being loli art and all). So I imagine it's a work that evolves both in the dev sense (as always), but also at the tool sense

Finally had some time, used it to watch most of the TV channels. And it's a very fun concept. A "fullscreen" toggle would be nice, but I get the atmospheric in-room vibe too. Better navigation between multiple shows on the same channel would be nice, but not exactly "TV". Definitely blown away by the sheer length and amount of animations. Can't think of a game that delivers as much. I didn't find any of the AI glitches too distracting, if anything it was actually fun to spot them and laugh a bit. We all know what's possible and what's not, what's worth trying to fix and what's acceptable noise. Gonna jump into the games next, get familiar, then hit New Game and go when I've got the time to devote. I want to enjoy this one, not just rush through.

Speaking of AI glitches, I noticed one where the hands of two characters were merged together and then split into two separate hands as they moved apart. There was another one that was kind of hard to tell, but there was a girl that I could have sworn had a right hand attached to her left arm. It was a little hard to be sure though due to her pose. Then there was one where a girl on the TV had freckles that weren't attached to her face. She moved around, but the freckles were apparently attached to the TV screen instead of attached to her.

The technology is what it is at this point. I'm not expecting perfection. The glitches are good for a laugh.

The ship minigame is in no way fun or adding to the experience.
This, and so much, this. If I wanted to play on the Commodore 64 (or Lunar Lander on the BBC MIcro), I'd dust off my emulator. Certainly didn't expect to find it here.

The ship minigame is skippable. You will miss out on a brief scene if you do though...
Shouldn't have to skip it, shouldn't miss out on content for doing so either. Bad and/or unnecessary minigames are still bad and/or unnecessary.

To be frank, if you still complain about the ship minigame now that the big fat skip button is there and with the latest patch it has become super easy, you should really put work into your self esteem.
Or do you blame my game for doing do what games are about? A game should provide challenges to a player. For some those challenges are a bit on the tougher side. I don't play the Dark Souls games because for me it's not fun to die 17 times against the tutorial mob. You fail to successfully dock a ship. Nobody`s perfect. The difference is: Dark souls has no skip button, I built one in for you! Take the L and keep going, pal. You don't have to ace everything.

I dunno what else to do to make it easier for you. Even Wilmington is so easy now it almost hurts. You can press M and go for it! See how all these little bridges and landing stages are outside the red boxes? You can go right through them, do the full Schettino and get away with it! And who knows if i ever make it to the point where you really feel consequences of dodging this little minigame.

And you're dead wrong. The original inspiration for the ship minigame is another classic. They even had a time limit! GREAT IDEA, don't you think? ;)

So, you're defending a minigame that, by your own admission, you just nerfed the hell out of and added a skip feature to?! Kinda made my point for me there! 😉

I haven't played the new version yet, I was hesitant to do so precisely because of that frustrating and all-too-frequent minigame, so I'm glad to hear it's been improved.

I take no shame in improving stuff. I like the Wilmington map, but it is not ideal to have such a challenging level as the second encounter with the minigame right after the "tutorial" New York. The circumstances - North Carolina being where it is quite early during the journey of the ship - made me keep it where it is, but i tried to defuse it a bit.

There were times when the ship minigame had serious teething troubles, mostly technically. I would claim these times are over, maybe you could give it a try instead of blaming me for traumas I gave you with a version from about a year ago. I mean blame me anytime, but the game went through some improvements. :D

Why on earth are we arguing about an OPTIONAL mini-game? There is a skip button. Not a single person here paid for this game. I know because there isn't a payment option. ZDaGoat has gifted this game to us without asking for anything in return. Perhaps instead of crying like little babies, we could give the guy our gratitude.

Thank you ZDaGoat for giving us a game we truly do not deserve. I sincerely apologize on behalf of all the ungrateful people on the forum.

Played both minigames in the menu, haven't started the actual game yet. I thought they were casually fun, not too long. Big ship handled like a big ship, inertia, etc. Probably took me 2 attempts to get the hang of it. A couple failures after that, but solely cause I was rushing and being risky. The multi-stops to take pictures was a nice change. Didn't finish Maelstrom, stopped when I saw the second stop appear and realized I'd have to go around again. But the orbital mechanic was also a fun change. It's such a short minigame, unless it's constantly interrupting gameplay, I see no problem. Especially if there's a skip button. As for the matching, if anything I was disappointed that some art didn't exist for some descriptions/etc. But again, short easy minigame, nothing to complain about. A fun minor brainteaser/timewaster/puzzle to solve. I'm here for it.

Wasn't blaming you for anything! Just said the minigames used to be a pain and I'm glad you've improved them.

Ah, the ever-present white knight, stepping up in the hour of need. We weren't arguing, we were discussing, and in point of fact discussing with the actual developer, who seems quite capable of speaking for themselves.

So... dev, why isn't there a payment option (or is there?)? Don't you want to get paid for your hard work? This may be a pirate site but it's also a place where supporters can find devs to, well, support, especially for games with actual effort put into them.
